Weekend-Engagement Week 196: My Favorite Podcasts
I'm not really a podcast type of person, because I prefer watching videos or reading articles. However, listening to podcast is a good way to multi-task. I can do other stuff while listening to them. Just like as I'm writing this, I'm listening to one. I also listen to either a podcast or music on Spotify while playing a game and/or so on.
The following are a couple of podcasts I enjoy listening to.

SB19 is my favorite P-pop (Philippine Pop) group and last year they started this podcast. So far, there are just four episodes in their podcast as they have been very busy with other projects, but it was fun listening to them just having a conversation with each other.
Somehow, I and other fans had the chance to get to know them better. What I like about them is that they don't filter their words and they stay true to themselves. They're among the rare type of celebrities who can be brutally honest about things.
I hope they add more episodes in the coming days.

This is the podcast version of Rotten Mango by Stephanie Soo and her hubby. They also have a video version of their contents on YouTube and show some notes on their website. If I have more time to spare, I check the YouTube video because I like looking at Stephanie and she also shows some photos or videos related to the content there. However, if I don't have much time and chose to multitask, I listen to the podcast version.
The contents this Rotten Mango podcast share are mostly TRUE CRIMES. I like listening to true crime stories and/or documentaries and have been doing so for years now. The reason why I like listening to such story is because I want to understand how people's minds work, especially these kinds of people. Some of the crimes committed are unimaginable, so I want to know how they ended up doing what they did.
When I was in the nursing school, I really enjoyed learning Psychology as well as Psychiatric nursing. It's just fascinating how people's mind and behavior differ from each other. In most cases, these criminals or killers have been through really tough times at some point in their lives, but some of them are somehow just born that way.
I've always believed that people are born like a blank canvas and our life's painting starts as we grow up... affected by a variety of things including the environment we live in and such. However, listening to true crimes made me doubt this belief. Some of them are just so good at pretending to be someone else until it's time to strike. It's scary how manipulative some people can be.

Listening to true crime podcasts can't be for everyone, though. There are a lot of sensitive and disturbing contents, so you have to be ready. I remember when we were assigned at a mental and behavioral health facility for one semester when I was in university. We had to undergo self-awareness seminars first before we start our duty... and occasionally have similar sessions along the way. It's important... otherwise, it would also be a problem for us.
Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your weekend! (^^,)/
