Hola amigos hoy vengo a desahogar algo que me trae mal desde hace meses y es una situación que aparte de preocuparme me molesta, y es que mi hijo adolescente tiene el frenillo lingual corto y para los que no saben lo que es eso, es una pequeña tela que está debajo de la lengua, se supone que todas las personas lo tienen y es normal, pero hay algunas que son más cortas que otras y en el caso de mi hijo es bastante corto y me estoy enterando de esta situación, es hace varios meses y es que he investigado mucho al respecto pero nunca fui informada de esta situación por ningún pediatra.

Creo que esto es sumamente importante, pues durante la infancia mi hijo tuvo dos pediatras que lo trataron desde que nació y desde la primera consulta como un niño sano me dijeron que todo estaba bien y con molestia puedo decir que nunca me preguntaron si mi hijo tenía buen agarre para succionar la leche, o si se alimentaba bien y además de que lo revisaron completamente, siempre me dijeron que todo estaba en buen estado, ni siquiera la endocrino que le reviso detalladamente sus dientes y paladar me informo nada , nunca me hablaron del frenillo, ¿por qué no lo hicieron, será porque no lo consideraron necesario?

Mi hijo presento dificultad para pronunciar las palabras, situación que solucionamos en cuestión de meses con algunas terapias, después vi que tenía problemas para tragar y el médico me dijo que era porque yo lo consentía demasiado, entonces mi hijo se las arregló como pudo y por desconocimiento del problema de su frenillo se adaptó a comer a su manera, pero es un problema constante para comer las carnes y alimentos que requieren mayor masticación.

Cuando le dije al pediatra que mi hijo no comía carne, él me decía que le enseñara poco a poco, pero nada funcionaba, hace poco estábamos comiendo carne y le dije a mi hijo que ¿por qué no le gustaba la carne?, donde me contestó que, si le gustaba el sabor, que el problema era que no podía tragar, eso me causó malestar y me puse a leer para ver cómo podía solucionar.
Me sorprendió mucho cuando leí que el frenillo corto causaba dificultad para tragar los alimentos, pero como no sabía si mi hijo lo tenía o no, le pedí que sacara la lengua y ya me daba un infarto cuando vi que su lengua no salía de los dientes, ni llega a la parte de adentro de las mejillas, ni a los dientes intermedios y mucho menos a las muelas, en ese momento me sentí tan mal, un escalofrío recorrió mi piel, me sentí como una mala madre por haber pasado 14 años en esta situación, pero al mismo tiempo me consolé diciendo que yo no era médico para saber esto y tantos pediatras que le pedían que sacara la lengua para ver su garganta y nadie me decía nada.

Para terminar de confirmar el diagnostico le pedí que levantara su lengua y ahí estaba el frenillo , la telita corta sosteniendo la lengua desde la punta y manteniéndola pegada al piso de la boca, opte a comparar su lengua con la mía y la de mi esposo y si efectivamente su lengua tiene muy poca movilidad, es como un caballo amarrado bien pegado a un postal .
Actualmente consulté con un otorrinolaringólogo la situación de mi hijo, porque tarda mucho en comer, pasa largo rato masticando, además de que duerme con la cabeza inclinada, y el médico lo que hizo fue regañarme y me dijo que como era posible que no lo hubiera tratado de pequeño, que era una irresponsable. Además me explicó que para los adulto es una operación muy traumática y delicada, porque en la mayoría de los casos tienen que dormir al paciente por completo, además la recuperación es larga y dolorosa y necesita mucha terapia para llevar la lengua a su sitio normal, aunque ya estuviera cortada, no sé si me dijo eso porque quería sacarme dinero o porque quería sacarme el cuerpo.

Pero…, esta situación me ha tenido angustiada, ya que lo que más deseas como madre es que tu hijo tenga una vida normal como los demás niños, que pueda comer de todo y viendo algunas fotos, me he dado cuenta que las personas que tienen este problema, muestran una deficiencia en su desarrollo maxilofacial. Me gustaría buscar un especialista que me hable claro, con la verdad, pero no sé qué tipo de médico puede ayudarme.

Como consejo final les puedo decir que si tu bebé no puede tomar bien del pecho, si no tiene un buen agarre para ser amamantado o tiene algún problema para lactar correctamente debes revisar su lengua por debajo, o si no pedirle al pediatra que te diga si su frenillo lingual es normal , además si tiene problemas para hablar , tarda mucho en pronunciar sus primeras palabras o hay letras que las pronuncia incorrectamente también debes revisar, por ultimo si tiene problemas para tragar la comida, o selecciona mucho los alimentos, también puede ser un síntoma de frenillo lingual.
