Are ghosts stories a myth?
Are ghosts real or are they an illusion created in our minds just to instill fear in us or make us dread the night? I heard they move around during the day too and even remarry and make a family could all these be true?
It was a few minutes past 11pm when I felt this sudden urge to drink water, I was wide awake at this time because I was watching a very interesting film but when the urge came I had to satisfy it by going to the kitchen to get myself some water.
The atmosphere was dead quiet even the crickets had suddenly gone to sleep. This was totally unlike them as they keep me company on days my sister was out of the house. I hadn't shut my window and reached out to do it when a strong wind and a foul smell swept up my nostrils. I almost puked but I held myself back and somehow my eyes met a very dark shadow in the garden of one of the neighbors and it immediately disappeared when I saw it.
I stood there dumbstruck as goosebumps covered my skin. I couldn't utter a word neither could I shit the window I was about to shut then I understood what u see some kids in movies go through when they are faxed with creeps. They're mostly unable to run or scream because of the hypnotic nature of whatever creeped them out. Whenever I watch such scenes I curse the writers for not making the kids run to safety but now that I've experienced it, I'd no longer curse because I know what it feels like.
After a few minutes, I was freed of whatever hypnotized me and immediately shut the window, the thirst left me and all I wanted to do was go hide myself under my blanket with my pillows placed on top of me. Immediately I left the kitchen the crickets came calling and I cursed their very existence cause why not?
I'm still trying to understand what I saw last night, I need to know if my mind played weird games on me or I mistook one of the stalls of the plant to be a dark shadow but again that chilly wind, the crickets and the foul smell all make me put a question mark to whatever happened.
