Java Deficiency

My first experience with coffee was during a sweltering day at school. Prompted by a friend's recommendation, my best friend and I visited the newly erected coffee stand. After going through the menu, we opted for an iced latte due to the weather situation. It was a novel experience that held our expectations high with anticipation due to the amount we were paying.

When it was handed to us, I had my friend take the first sip and her expressive reaction prompted me to follow suit. To our delight, it was good. Making it a duty, I paid visits to the coffee stand twice a week just to get a glimpse of the ingredients used in the preparation of the beverage. I didn't mind the flavor but my quests for the recipe proved elusive as the barista was good at hiding his recipe from the public.

Anyway, I remembered there was a place like Google so I looked it up and that was how I found Nescafe. The other options for making coffee were too difficult plus the ingredients seemed rare in my country hence my decision to opt for Nescafe.

With my newfound knowledge, I purchased a pack of Nescafe and crafted my own coffee but the outcome turned out regrettable as it was extremely bitter. Unable to take another sip, I emptied the entire content down the drain.

Upon sharing my misadventure with my friend, she advised I added sugar on my next attempt since I have a sweet tooth. Then, I wondered why such an idea eluded me on my first attempt.

Taking her counsel into consideration, the outcome with sugar, fell short of the gratifying sensation derived from the professionally crafted cups I've had at school. It finally occurred to me that it was better having someone else make it. Apart from Iced latte, I tried other flavors too, espresso, latte, cappuccino, each proving to be pleasing.

After recognizing my deficiency in brewing coffee, I've come to prefer the expertise of skilled baristas. I also don't consume coffee often because of how expensive it is currently in my country but when I do, I make sure it's delightful and not a waste of money.

I am thinking the stand must have access to a different sort of coffee, and that is part of the reason it tastes so much better. I feel the same way though, I like my coffee so much more when someone else makes it, especially a barista!

I'm lucky, my best pal was a barista for years, so sometimes she makes me coffee when we hang out haha ☕️

When you do not have knowledge in a specific area, it is better to leave it to a professional and gradually learn the art of coffee preparation.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.☕

Good day
