Meet Blackie: my Grammy's cat

The weekend for me is for fun and visitation. It's a time where I visit my loved ones whom I haven't seen in years and yesterday was one of those days.

Like I said in my previous post, I had stated that I visited my grandma and she had some really cool things that I liked ranging from her garden to owning a cat as it was the only companion she had since all her children and grandchildren are all grown and no longer staying with her. I was surprised at how long I had been away from her.

I met her cat yesterday. She's an adorable little thing even though she's not an indoor cat. My Grammy called her blackie, weird but somewhat cool maybe because of her color. Lol.

Blackie is a month pregnant and she looked really tired. I think she was also going through the pain of pregnancy. She kept whining and rubbing her stomach against the wall and she was sneezing too. I told Grammy to make her see a vet but she said that blackie's sneezing was just signs of pregnancy and nothing serious.

I rubbed her stomach for a while and she felt so good. I could see her eyes yearning for more touches and then it struck me how these animals go through these pains alone compared to a human who has her husband by her side and can always cry on his shoulders.

I really felt the pain she was going through. One thing surprised me so much and that's the fact that her stomach didn't protrude at all. It's her first pregnancy actually and she's just about seven months old. Her stomach looked so normal and I couldn't have guessed if my grandma didn't tell me.

While she could still stand, I took some shots of her just to share here and after that I let her go to sleep. She was really tired. I really can't wait for her to bring forth those beautiful kittens she carries.

It also really did interest me to find out that cats go through gestation for just two months. That's amazing! At least their stress isn't so much like that of a human because I think they don't have much strength like a human has.

I really wanted to stay back and take care of blackie but I had school work to do so I left her with a warm goodbye and plenty of kisses to last her till we meet again.

There’s a strong connection between grandmas and cats 😂😂😂😂. My grandma also loves cats. She has countless of them.

Haha! I don't know how true that is but I think it's the only companion they have that's why.
