New semester, new annoying rules.

My school just resumed for the semester and we've been introduced to new lecturers that are really annoying. They take attendance themselves before starting the class and no one dares answer for an absentee. They never let any late comer into the class and are very strict on what kind of notebooks we use for their courses.

Notebooks right now are really expensive and if a person can lay hands on a journal that was given as a souvenir he or she is very grateful as that would help save the cost of buying new books but these lecturers of ours are saying no to such books. They said we have to use big books even when the notes they'll give in class won't take quarter of the leaves for the semester and I asked myself if they all had a meeting before coming to teach us because they're all the same. Not even one is lenient.

Getting home yesterday, the whole new semester new rule thing got me thinking hard and I couldn't bear to write a poem that describes the actions of these lecturers that carry themselves like gods.

In halls of learning, where knowledge does reside,
A tale unfolds of lecturers so full of pride.
With stern demeanor and rules held tight,
They dictate our path, from morning till night.

They take attendance with an iron hand,
No leniency given, no latecomers can stand.
Locked doors greet those who dare to be tardy,
Their strictness echoing, leaving us wary.

Oh, these lecturers, so choosy and grand,
Deciding notebooks we must hold in our hand.
No personal preference, no room for expression,
Their choices were enforced, causing frustration.

But amidst the grumbles and the discontent,
A spirit of unity, a shared sentiment.
Coursemates unite, with voices bold and clear,
Seeking solace, ready to persevere.

For in these challenges, seeds of strength are sown,
The fire of resilience in our hearts has grown.
Together we stand, against the tide we'll fight,
Finding strength in unity, embracing the light.

And though these lecturers may test our will,
We'll rise above, our ambitions fulfilled.
For knowledge is our quest, our minds yearn to explore,
In the face of adversity, we'll triumph, that's for sure.

So let them take attendance, let them dictate,
We'll rise above, our spirits won't abate.
With resilience as our armor, we'll stride ahead,
In this journey of learning, we won't be misled.

And as we navigate this academic terrain,
Remember, dear coursemates, we're not in vain.
For within our hearts, a flame of knowledge will ignite,
In the face of challenges, we'll emerge shining bright.

Had to add some positivity to it to cheer up my coursemates because I'd share this on our group chat too.

Thanks for reading ✨.

What's this?!
Notebooks too!
Haaa!
So they're now monitoring notebooks like sec schools.

I remember going to school with 20leaves note book because I don't like to carry bags😄

I love your poem! That's very creative. Their rules were not strict in our class, but of course, you still need to follow them. We are currently in the first semester of my second year, and the thing that makes me a bit uneasy is the professors that I will meet😂
