Why Students are losing Interest in Education

Growing up, we were trained to strictly believe education is the key to success and truth be told it was and it will be. At times I ponder in my heart what I will have become without not going to school or let me say without not having access to education.

Well I will still be someone but just different from the kind I have become, different from the kind education has made me to. Though I might have still been able to acquire some skills and knowledge without education but perhaps I will not have also acquired some knowledge and skills I have acquired by the pathway to education.

Growing up I remember, I don't have passion for anything book or education. I will rather prefer to spend all my days watching movies and playing games much more than diverting my attention to reading. In fact whenever I picked my books to read, I lost interest and begin to fall asleep. At the beginning I thought I am just not a good reader but as time goes on I begin to realise it is quite different. I lose passion for education.

Thanks to my parents most especially my mother who worked so hard for me to ignite the passion in me and soon I begin to fall in love with education and reading again

Recently I have been hearing young people most especially students losing interest in education due to different reasons best know to them. To some I heard they lost interest in education due to the system of education in their country.

If you live in some countries is their educational system is quite bad and so it is evidently that is enough for them to lose interest in it. In some countries like Nigeria, if you are living in Nigeria, a lot of students are already losing the Passion to study as they believe there is no chance of getting a valuable job after spending all the years in school

To some it is due to financial crises, when their families didn't have enough money to send them to school, as time goes on, they begin to see the need not to go to school again and eventually you will see a lot of people eventually giving up in school. Different people having different reasons.

But what I believe is no matter the reason, it is not enough for you to lose interest in education. Just as I have been hearing since childhood education is always the key to success and it will be. It is high time for us to ignite passion to our children to value education as they value their life. No matter how it may be now whether there is no job to reward your effort, time and years used in school, trust me the education you gained now will be useful in the future.

To many people it might be because of peer pressure. If you see your friend no more going to school, that should not cause you to stop going to school. As a parent, the greatest gift you can give to your children is valuable education as they will live long to treasure the gift
