Restarting A Drop Shipping Business

School resumed a few weeks ago and I have been thinking of how I am going to be getting extra cash.

It’s not going to be easy combining a lot of hairstyling jobs together with school work and then money I get from home won’t be enough because there are a lot of expenses in this school.

I think now would be the right time to go back to my e-commerce job. Seeing as this won’t take a lot of my time and all I need to do is just check my emails a few times a day, confirm the order and forward the mail to the right person.

It’s not going to be much of a hassle like hairstyling. Not that hairstyling is a problem just that e-commerce won’t take as much time as hairstyling would.

I got to know about e-commerce through someone’s status on WhatsApp. I have always been seeing it but I just didn’t pay much attention to it.

So he created a very tempting order in his status for the first 20 people to reply to that offer.

I messaged him and he made me an offer, set everything up for me including building a website and then boom I started making money.

Now, how e-commerce works is this. After creating a website, you look for a hot selling product online and create an ad around that product.

A video ad would be created. After that, a write up containing the details of whatever product you choose to sell including the price at which you want to sell that particular product would be attached to the video.

And then a link to your website would also be added.

Most times, what makes a potential customer buy your product is the kind of offer you create. The kind of offer that makes them feel like they’re cheating you.

And then often times it’s pay in delivery. So they’re at ease. Since the fear of been scammed has been removed.

For example ; buy one get one free or buy this and get this. Just make sure the offer you create doesn’t put you into debt.

This is just all the hard work. Once this is all settled the rest is stress free.

Once everything has been set up, you just need to rest and check your mails for orders.

I used Facebook and I pay for ads everyday. So once anyone is interested in my product, they click the link, it directs them to my website, they answer the questions there, submit and then I get a notification in my email.

I don’t need to have the product physically, I just have to know someone that does. I’m what people call a drop shipper.

Whatever order I get, I forward the details to the seller, he delivers the product collects the money and sends me my share.

That’s all. I don’t have to do much. Just check my mails and forward the details to the seller and get my money.

On some days you can get a lot of orders and as you know everyday isn’t Christmas, other days there might be small or none at all but most of all it’s a great passive income.

Because you can be doing other things while still doing business and making money.

I did it for a few months but had to stop due to some reasons but now that I don’t have a lot of time for my hairstyling job I think this is the perfect time to go back to drop shipping.

Ps: the parts I covered are personal information about the customer.

Yes e-commerce can be risky but what’s business without taking risks 💁🏾‍♀️💁🏾‍♀️

I like the idea of drop shipping. When I saw your status, I thought it was just about uploading your status with lots of products you don't have yet but can get it easily from a supplier.

Something I did not get here, when your send the info to the supplier and they receive the money... Can the supplier be trusted and not run away with your money?

Yeah drop shipping is really cool. The thing with suppliers is you have to be sure who you do business with. There have been cases of scam.
But I for one make sure I get them through referrals that way I'm sure because I have reviews from people

E-commerce is really a good alternative... Atleast you can combine them with your academics.
Just take risks but calculated risks, atleast that way, you get to learn even when you lose
I wish you well dear

Exactly. It's all about taking calculated risk. And since I can combine it with school , it makes it a better option.

Thank you. I wish you well also

I never would have thought that making money could be this easy with dropshipping. It is even more fascinating to learn that it requires so little stress.

Of course, all the goodies it comes with do not come cheaply. You say you pay every day for ads and things like that. But I guess it would be all worth it in the end, as you might just receive heavy orders sometimes that would cover all the marketing expenses.

Dropshipping sounds juicy; I might as well consider following you as you restart the business.

Yes! Drop shipping is very lucrative and easy and it doesn't come with a lot of stress.

And yeah the goodies do not come cheaply. For the ads part, it's paid everyday and the profit covers up the ads payment and there is still some left.
And on days when there is low sales we accept the loss with good faith

Sounds good to me! 👍 well-planned strategy, you can build a successful e-commerce business that operates with minimal overhead and risk. Drop shipping allows you to sell products without having to purchase inventory upfront or manage a physical warehouse. Instead, you partner with suppliers who handle the storage, shipping, and fulfillment of your orders.

One important aspect to consider when restarting a drop shipping business is pricing. With a multitude of competitors and changing market conditions, it can be challenging to maintain a competitive price point. Manufacturers and brands use Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies to control the prices of their products and maintain a consistent brand image. MAP policies help to prevent unauthorized dealers from advertising products at excessively low prices, which can undermine the perceived value of the brand.

To ensure compliance with MAP policies, you can use a tool like Priceva (https://priceva.com/blog/what-is-map-pricing), which provides real-time monitoring and enforcement of MAP prices across all sales channels. With Priceva, you can monitor prices on marketplaces, your own website, and even your competitors' sites, and take action to adjust your prices accordingly.
