Bucket List 2022 goals my Life Goals List

“The most important thing about goals is having one.” –Geoffry Abert

Hola to all you Silver Bloggers and Happy 2022

Here we are now hurtling towards the second, yes the second month of the year 2022. Is it just me or does time seem to accelerate the older we get?

This article is my entry for the Blog of the Month from the wonderful Silver Bloggers community. The theme for January's #BoM is Bucket List 2022 goals

Bucket List

First of all, I do not like the term at all. The term gained popularity from the 2007 movie “The Bucket List” where Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson create a bucket list of things to do before they kick the bucket(die).

Where the term came from nobody seems to know, although a couple of theories are doing the rounds:

  • From executions in the Middle Ages where the victim would stand on a bucket with a noose tied around their neck. The bucket would then be kicked away and the victim would strangle to death.

  • From the Catholic custom of holy-water buckets. After a person died their body would be laid out and a bucket of holy-water would be placed at their feet. Friends and family who came to visit and pay their respects would sprinkle the body with said holy water.

Whichever is the origin I find it quite morbid and I would rather rename my bucket list to life goals list to be completed while I am still alive!

So I shall call this my Life Goals List for 2022

silver_divider_black.png

I don't want to kick the bucket in 2022

Now that my wee rant is over and done with, I want to see 2023. So that means eating healthyish and keeping up with exercise. Gone are the days of playing football and team sports, but I do love my walking. So keep being active and exercising is my main goal here.

Stay Positive

If the first item on my life goals list was concerning physical health then the second concerns my mental health. I like to be positive and I tend to be a glass half full type of person. I think it is do with coping with an illness for most of my life. I like to be upbeat and positive, and see a positive in everything.

As an example, why do people say not bad? A typical conversation

How are you?
Oh you know, not bad.
Do you mean good?
Yes good...
Then why not say good. Be positive. Don't say not bad, say good instead...

I want to stay upbeat and positive in 2022

Publish my book

I will take this opportunity to congratulate the newest moderator of of SB namely @coquicoin who is just fantastic, and whose birthday is in December and to whom I promised to send the first draft of my book to before her birthday! So, the pressure is on.

My great grandfather published his memoirs. He was well-travelled and lived in a few countries from France to China where he was a UK diplomat.

It is from him where I got my wanderlust, and my novel is faction, a blend of fiction interspersed with facts on and about me and my exploits. I have been publishing chapters of Archie (the hero in the novel) on another platform read.cash and am sure that @coquicoin @eylz619 and @ifarmgirl would like to read Archie here, as they were three of the biggest supporters of Archie over there.

Grow Hive and my crypto portfolio

The only goal I made prior to writing this article for 2022 was to send a dollar a day to two crypto wallets, and I can proudly say that I have been doing that every day so far in 2022. Give yourself a pat on the back Edward. Okay I will, thank you Edward.

NFTs Pandas.jpg

My primary goal with Hive is to grow a minimum of 100HP per month. I started Hive towards the end of 2021. I participated in January PUD at 15 HP and as of today I am at 107 HP, so a minimum of 100HP is totally doable, but I want to finish 2022 on 1500 HP.
Obviously, I wish to engage and interact and explore all the Hive blockchain opportunities buy my Life goal list for 2022 is 1500 HP by 1/1/2023.

I am a big BCH and smartBCH fan and a large slice of my portfolio is in BCH related projects including NFTs. The above picture is of three Pandas that I minted yesterday on smartBCh and hopefully the project is an example of growth as they intend having a Panda NFT game and breeding options.

I do have holdings in other networks such as Atom and Cosmos. I want to have holdings in an additional two networks in 2022.

Of course, as with any crypto project I will be making sure that I Do My Own Research , I see too many people blindly doing what the masses do without knowing what they are investing in!

Take some inland waterways courses

Normally I would be setting goals for vacations or getaways, however with the pandemic still going with respect to travel restrictions, the holiday idea is now staycation focused and in particular taking some courses prior to buying a canal boat on the English canal network.

There are four accredited courses that I want to take, and each lasts two days. Whilst all four might be a stretch this year, I am definitely setting goals to do the first two, as they will be vital in spotting a dead duck of boat when looking to buy.

  • Helmsmans Course
  • Diesel Engine And Boat Maintenance
  • Boat Electric Systems (Design And Installation)
  • Boat Plumbing Heating And Engine Installation

Due to social distancing requirements, class sizes are less than normal so it might mean getting all four done is hard, especially as the locations are in England to do all four.

Crypto permitting buy a canal narrowboat

The big one, and where all my focus is. I want to buy a narrowboat for cruising the English and Welsh inland waterways and live on 24/7. Preferably a boat around 50 foot in length. Something similar to the boat in the picture below that I took on the Union canal in Ediburgh last year would be ideal.

NarrowBoat.jpg

Whether this happens in 2022 really will all come down to how the crypto markets are performing and how well I have picked projects to perform well.
If it does not happen in 2022 then it will by hook or by crook happen in 2023.

silver_divider_black.png

The above makes up my Life Goals List for 2022 and my entry for #BoM , I hope that you enjoyed this list, please excuse my wee rant as an introduction, and if you have not made yours, then I urge you to do so.

You had quite a rant there haha, but it did remind me of the movie :) Your life goals are well-defined Tito Ed, and you will have no excuse not to check them off within the year. And I got excited with your book and with your narrow boat too. Was hoping to read something about a lady but oh, I guess you left it out on purpose, yeah?😂

I only vaguely remember the movie, I am not that good at remembering movies if truth be told. Salamat CJ, it is good to have some goals defined and yes will get some checked off for sure. The book, yes Archie needs to get more written on him, hehe a lady well that would be telling ;)

The same here, sometimes I would say I didn't watch a movie only to find out in the middle of it that I have already watched it, lol!

Cheering for you, Tito Ed as you work towards them💪

Your rant makes sense, I like life goals as I don't like to frame them in a period of time and I don't want to kick the bucket anytime soon either. I like from the moment we met in Read how upbeat you are, so I'm sure you will keep being upbeat and positive in 2022, no doubts about :)

But look at you. You have written in the blockchain as if you have written it in stone that the draft of your book will be ready and in my hands in December. I'm excited about the idea to read the whole piece. And this list will be my best friend in the face of possible future arguments. 😆

And I can imagine you in that blue narrowboat, I hope you can do those courses soon Ed, and I'm already looking forward to read about your experiences, maybe you will even write another book 🤣 I am joking, but on second thought why not?

Thank you so much Eli:) Putting things like that in a timeframe are like consigning your life to end, meh so not doing that lol. Yes I like to think I am upbeat, we have all been through trials and tribulations and the older we get the more upbeat we should be and pump up the confidence of younger people.

haha now I am laughing, yes I put out there in the blockchain, you have your proof! That was on purpose too, as a kick up the jacksy will be required from time to time.

Hehe blue yes, it would be good if it was blue, and I had thought of writing from the boat, so no, not a joke and thank you for helping and guiding me here, there and everywhere, I appreciate it young lady so thank you.

I do not like the term at all

Me neither! I'd have preferred a different way of putting this, but it's become so accepted and understood and less wordy...not that that's a problem for me...lol

I tend to be a glass half full type of person

Well, ahem, I tend to be a glass half full of wine person.... 🤣

Great goals - do put sunny South Africa on your travel list for some time - not necessarily 2023. This sort of Scottish lass would love to show you around our sort of Scottish village...

Seriously, too, good luck with the book I have no doubt it will be a good read. A book's on my list, somewhere, too, along with financial stability and seeing out at least the next 10 years with good health!

Yes unfortunately is so well known and used, and there is nothing wrong with being wordy🤤

I don't blame the half full wine glass as South Africa has got some decent wines!

South Africa is one country that is on my list. My mother's side had relatives that went over there, although most of them came back I think.

I knew about your Scottish Dad and did think that perhaps McGregor had some Scottish roots, so that would be an honour shown round by the sort of Scottish lass!

The book, I tried doing my memoirs twice and kept getting the dreaded writer's block, now the words flow when I actually sit down and write it!

It would be good if you get your silver pen out, we all achieve financial stability and heck we all have more than ten years of good health!

It's a deal. You'd be welcomed by members of two clans: Cameron (mine) and Lamont (The Husband's). And good wine from our mountains...

oh boy you have me in stitches now!
@coquicoin look at the clan of Fiona Cameron ....
My merriment is due to the fact @fionasfavourites is that my hero in my book is called ...
Sir Archibald Edward Cameron, XI Baronet of Cameron of Bunit

Oh shoot now you reminded me of a song "There's a Hole in the Bucket"

Hope the courses for narrow boat come to fruition along with the purchase of same, one really needs to know the in's and out's!

Little wee rant does one good, going around without a list or a head could be quite a problem. Your list is loaded and made for good reading.

haha thanks Joan, now that song is in my head 🤣
Yes will be fun to do the courses and see what boats are out there, there are so many pitfalls it is good to be prearmed and avoid big costs further down the road.

A wee rant does clear the air and is good to put a list down on paper so to speak. Thank you very much, it was fun to write.

Two Hive'rs already narrowboat sailing around UK are @scubahead and @millycf1976 appears they have overcome some issues with boats, be it the cold or motors 😌

Good luck getting the list of 2022 done.

"I tend to be a glass half full type of person" - let's always be this kind of person.. honestly it's hard but it's manageable...

That idea of living in a boat is so damn exciting, but if someone will do it here where I am in... it's scary...

and yep... waiting for that book of yours too and yes I'm pressuring you too hahaha..

Great goals Ed!

Always your posts make me stop reading and reflect a little, having a wish list is common but better is to have a list of goals as only the word makes it possible to realize it.

You have an adventurous spirit like your great grandfather, living on a boat is a great dream, I am sure you will have your boat.

Not to pressure you but you better deliver what you promise, already @coquicoin had her birthday and she wants her gift, in fact I'm craving for it too 🤣🙈😂. Cheers happy night. @tengolotodo

hehe oh no, you want to pressure me too 🤣🤣

Thank for reading, I think an adventurous spirit is a good thing to have, we only live once, so I think it is best to do as much as we can and as many different things as we can on our lives.

Yes one day I will get that boat!
