Mysteries abound but will Big Brother find the ttt

Hello Hello to all you wonderful music lovers of the Hive.

Whilst I was making a post yesterday to showcase the talk show tonight 👉 Talk Time With Tengo Episode 3 on January 10th in the Ecency discord server at 8pm UTC (just in case you didn't know 🤣🤣🤣) I mention a song from Toyah call It's a Mystery.

This got me to think about punk princesses! And after I read an article this morning, my post was born.

Well the idea was born, of course I still had to write it, I have not had the balls to actually use AI to make a post yet, have you?

First of all ...

Hello Hello to all the music lovers of Hive

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it is #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

image.png

Let's get stuck right in...

The formalities

If you wish to participate in Three Tune Tuesday then I defer you to the simple jist on how to do it from @ablaze ...

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

This week is week 85 of ttt and if you wish to participate then follow the rules laid out by @ablaze in his post from last week Rolling back to 1985 for Three Tune Tuesday Week 85

Do Go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the five sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this world of ours!

**Formalities over, let's get back to the Punk Princesses!

As Toyah sparked it, we shall kick off with the news that The legendary Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp have confirmed they are performing live in summer 2023 at the legendary Cropredy Convention.

For being in her mid 60s she looks pretty Sensational.

Tune 1 Toyah ft Robert Fripp - Sensational (Posh Redux)

You might have heard of Robert Fripp, as he has been aroundfor donkeys ages and pretty instrumental to many musicians, and he married Toyah Willcox years ago.

It is great seeing them going strong, and on her website Toyah was talking walking about how they sat down on Christmas Day and planned the next three years, which includes two albums and tours. Pretty good going when you are almost 70.

She is unmistakably Toyah but much more refined that songs from last century.

Someone yes you @macchiata read a book recently with the Title Brave New World and posted on twitter, well I have read it many years ago. Whilst I commented on the tweet I also immediately thought of the next song from Toyah!

As you are a #ttt poster I thought this was appropriate to be my new song

Tune 2 Toyah - Brave New World

The third tune is from another artist who I just read has been not well at all.

In the generation of Toyah we have Hazel O'Conner.

I have chosen this song from her Breaking Glass album. Talking of iconic books made me think of 1984.

Big Brother, fictional character, the dictator of the totalitarian empire of Oceania in the novel Nineteen Eighty-four (1949) by George Orwell.

Tune 3 Hazel O'Conner - Big Brother

I said she was not well, she fell in n her home last year in France and hopefully is on the mend and you can read more here

Am going to pop in a bonus tune which I mentioned earlier and it is the name of tonight's featured guest .... yes .... It's A Msytery...

I hope that you enjoyed these Toyah inspired tunes

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

Amazing that the first song is Toyah from the earlier punk videos, she has aged well. I didn't realise Brave New World and Big Brother were punk themes. Have a great musical 🎵🎶

First of all! I totally forgot what today is! Secondly, thank you because this Toyah babe is something else. I really liked the first one and the second just made me laugh. The third isn't available. I skipped the fourth to make this comment.

Her face is wrinkled but looking beautiful. She is aged already and I love her vibe in singing. I love that name too — Toyah 😊

I am not sure I have ever heard Toyah before, but for some reason the name sounds familiar. I am guessing maybe I have seen someone else talk about it here. I am not sure though. Thanks for sharing!

I certainly remember both Toyah and Hazel O'connor from the 80s, and prefered Toyah. I was aware she had married Robert Fripp, but stupidly it never even crossed my mind that they might be making music together - that was quite a cool tune ! I really liked his tune 'I talk to the wind' from when he was in King Crimson, which is an absolute cracker (just listening to it now) !

That really was a mystery.
I enjoyed the selection very much. During the first three songs I thought "This reminds me of someone..."
It was nagging me. Some other artist hiding somewhere in the back of my head, laughing, screaching, "You'll never guess who..."

Thank you for including the fourth video, within the first 10 seconds it finally hit me. The little wall in my head was torn down and it revealed: Nina Hagen.

I dare saying Nina Hagen would be the German counterpart to Toyah.

Thanks for that adventure.

Have fun, she has some really good songs and also wasn't afraid to experiment a lot as you found in the video you just linked. 🤣

Wow, in her mid 60s and still rocking it like a young one! Great to see, fair play to her and I had never heard of Toyah at all before this post, so thanks for putting her on my radar. That's a serious hair style she is rocking in Brave New World, fair play to her! I'd say she must have been an influence on many artists over the years, I'm surprised I had not heard of her.

WOW, Robert Fripp! Ofc I know this guy. Not too well enough though. I learned about him when digging into electronic music and found out this guy was about rock back in the day, but also did sidesteps experimenting with drum machines and what not.

Darn Toyah 70 and still going string WOWOWOWOWOW.

AI and posts: I didn't make any attempt, though I tried GPT latest version numerous times already just to see what it gives me. But to use some or more of its responses as part of a post, is not my thing to be honest. Also, I don't think GPT can help me a lot since it doesn't know me and I like to add all sorts of personal knowledge, memories and whatnot in my posts. That said, I could ask GPT to write from a persons point of view and adopt whatever GPT writes as my own character and all.... Nahhhhh, not my thing LOL

I remember her! What was her big hit? There was one... I didn't know the rest of her stuff well. Toyah. She's cool!

She got even better with age. I think. Kids need to hear that more 👍

Always interesting tunes from you for #ttt, Mr Tengo. Thank you
