Walking in the Rain in Scotland in Burntisland

Howdi walkers, today I want to show what I did today whist walking.

I actually had to go to Burntisland to get some messages. Burntisland is a seaside town in Fife where I used to live.

image.png

The tide was out, and while I don't mind walking on the beach in the rain in summer, I am not so keen in the winter time!

image.png

Even the trees looked wet as I snapped them out of the window of the moving vehicle!

First up was the Post Office....

image.png

Oh no it bloody wasn't!

The Post Office used to be in this building and was run as a franchise so to speak.

image.png

Something happened and the owner retired or the lease ran out, anyway long story cut short there is no more Post Office. Whilst not a pain for me as I moved and have a Post Office, for people living here it is a pain in the proverbial arse!

Right let's go get some money from my bank The TSB that is just across the road...

image.png

Let me cross the road first ... see all that darn rain though!

image.png

Well Well Well
What you look at fulffing that!

The Trustee Savings Bank or TSB had become a gift shop

image.png

And do you see what I saw on the right on the picture, well saw and then saw something that was not there...

image.png

Above the wooden pallet was a wooden board covering where the ATM used to be...

So I thought Aha there used to be an ATM outside the shop next door ...

image.png

THIS MACHINE WILL CHARGE YOU £1.25 FOR CASH WITHDRAWALS

The Fluff you will said I...

And went across and in here

image.png

I forgot to take a picture of the outside so here is one that I had in my files from a while ago...

Before we step inside, I am going to direct you to my latest podcast, because in the podcast there is a simple competition with the chance to win some Ecency points...

ITTTT S1E12 Blowing a Hoolie win some Ecency Points

image.png

I am quite chuffed as I just passed 400 Plays or 400 views as Matilda would call it!

I digress, well there is a shock is it not!

Over the threshold we go and ...

image.png

The answer to the competition is in that picture above.

image.png

I could always spend a fortune when I go there!

image.png

I can always ask for go old proper Imperial measurements, for example a pound of beef sausages!

Can you see them in the picture above, I also got some Pork chippolata sausages to go with Thanksgiving Turkey, I tell you what Mrs T gets spoilt!

Butcher done, I thought about dinner and some nice chips and hot sauce, I needed some Tabasco and in I popped to the local Co-Op shop...

image.png

Can you fluffing believe it? They stopped selling it after we moved!

I bought the chips, some peas and hot salsa, yes for tacos muahh!

As I had no money, I used my card, I am still a cash guy, so it irks me not having any.

image.png

I got out just in time to pat Bruno who I had not seen for over a year.

Wet doggy smell it really is kinda unique!

Then it was home, cup of tea and record the podcast I mention above.

After all that, I had to cook the sausages of course with the chips, can you recognise them?

Hi, Super Ed!

It was fun to join you on your Thursday walk for the Wednesday walk and market Friday! 🤣 I think you are spending a lot of time with Matilda 😂.

I didn't get to hear your last podcast yet but I'm going to catch up tonight;). For some reason on my cell phone, I can't listen to them and I've been out all day. But I did listen to Matilda's yesterday, although I hadn't had time to comment. Poor Mrs. T, it can't be Matilda followed you to Edinburgh 🤣🤣 But Matilda can be funny. I've laughed to myself all day when I remember the JOMO, LOL

I think it's great that you spoil Mrs. T ;) and Mr. C. would be happy with those sausages with chips hehe please buy me a scotch pie next time 😉😂.

Remember I said in the podcast we were having breakfast and looked up and saw you know who putting in her order wearing her dancing shoes 👇👇👇

image.png

I think Matilda can be fun, and Steve got a chuckle when she could not believe he was Steve Hodl 🤣

They are fun to do, Mrs T's sisters love them and remind me what Matilda says!

Hope you are doing okay... and mum too.

Haha!!! You took the gifs award today without any doubt, Super Ed 🤣🤣

And I can't believe it, look at the inspiration you had with Matilda and her dancing shoes. You are brilliant:)

Haha, the Steve Hodl thing was hilarious! Your podcasts are so funny. But I have to listen to them a couple of times so I don't lose any detail because of your scot accent, Super Ed 😉💙

Hehe it was actually Mrs T who spotted Matilda and commented on her shoes!

Like I say there is inspiration all around us all the time!

Yeah Steve HODL was funny, thinks just pop into my head and away Matilda goes...

oh boy Friday tomorrow so might have to record one early before she goes on the gin!

I try to speak slowly and not to goto fast so to speak so people can understand, but thank you for listening twice and catching it all, you just made my day Super Eli 💙💠💙

All old landmarks have gone missing of late, Déjà vu tis not alas! Now being forced to go cashless, society being charged for everything, if you don't see the cost it's cause they hidden.

Scotch Pies, Haggis most obviously we know where clientele arrive from, not too keen on either !LOLZ

!LUV to Matilda good to hear going is good!

We won't see cashless for many years to come, most prefer cash in hand!

Matilda has found a way into life knowing her weekly ritual!

WOWOW, so much sauces. Unholy sauce? LMAo wha is that? We don´t have soooo much of that here in Portugal but I wuld like to try them. Because of soooo much rain, you guys over there have open markets on the streets or not? Can imagine that because of the rain no one wanna stand outside and sell stuff. Bon appetit and happy friday :)

haha Unholy sauce, well I had never noticed that it was called that. So it seems a sauce for barbecue, well I won't be having that!

Outdoor markets, yes they have them quite often. The rain well it does not rain all the time lol. Here in the East there is usually not as much as this.

THIS MACHINE WILL CHARGE YOU £1.25 FOR CASH WITHDRAWALS

At least it announces it with big characters. Most ATMs in my country (in Hungary) are not telling you how much money they charge you for cash withdrawals.

They use to tell you afterwards, but now they have to tell you before you use it, which is good as that way you can say no!

Great walk Ed. How did you prepare the chips? Did you add vinegar?

They were oven chips, so popped them in the air fryer and we just had salt and pepper on them. Funnily enough I tend not to put vinegar on them unless I am having fish and chips...
Happy Birthday Steve, hope you are having a great day :)

I need a trip to the Old Country as they called it where I grew up in New Jersey.
My grandfather was from Kilbirnie and I would love to see it in person.

Kilbirnie I am guessing would be a wee town on the West Coast, although personally I have never heard of it.
You should make a trip one day.

A trip indeed is needed but until we see where these digital passports are going I am staying in the Americas.
I have a childhood friend living in Glasgow and tons of family in Belfast.
Plus I won't take a PCR either so here I am.
Never vaxing and never testing.

Dang, that butcher shop looks awesome. I do love a good deli counter too. Most guys favorite store is the hardware store. Mine is the butcher shop. Hardware would be a close second I think. Awesome stuff. A bit sad that so many places are closing/switching over. Tell you what, you send me some Scotch, and i'll send you some Tabasco sauce ;)

Yes it is a cracking butchers, and during covid when only two allowed in the shop, there was a huge queue on the street waiting to be served!
I am with you, as it is my favourite shop too!
That deal... well you never know!

Interesting walk you had there partner, but then I've been trying to think maybe I did not get something right, what about the message you wanted to get? Did you get it and how?

Those sausage rolls are looking really tasty but I haven't tried them before and I don't know if I'd be like them but I will surely love to give it a try sometime.

I will be coming back or maybe just leave my comment on the the other blog if the podcast, hehe.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us partner, I love it ☺️.

Messages are what we call shopping or groceries, so the messages I wanted to get were the meat from the butchers shop hehe!
Sorry I did not put down what messages mean today parter.
Hope you are having a great day😁

It sounds like mad fun. Did I hear mentioning being charged £1.25? Isn't that on high side?

Eating that sausage seems like the perfect thing to do after walking for miles. 😁

The ones from the bank are free but these private ones can even charge £2.50 that is why I try not to use them.
Yeah the sausages were a great treat after the walking!
