Color Guard Practice - Monomad
One essential element in a drum band is the color guard group. This group typically performs with flags as standard equipment or in the form of weapons (rifles or swords). The role of the color guard in a marching band is crucial because it is where the beauty of the composition in the marching show lies.
In this post, I will share the color guard group from the school marching band where I teach. The color guard consists of selected students who are skilled in manipulating their bodies as agility is required when handling flags.
Here, my students are engaged in color guard practice in preparation for an upcoming competition event. These kids are practicing with seriousness and enthusiasm. They are overcoming fatigue and the scorching sun that burns their bodies until they appear black.
I am sharing these photos here for the daily #monomad challenge curated by @monochromes. While these kids practice, other students sit and watch them. Stay spirited, my students!
