Traditional Dance - Monomad

Hello, black and white photography enthusiasts!

At a recent school farewell event, my students showcased a traditional dance during the opening ceremony. This traditional dance is known as "Tari Ranup Lampuan." It originates from the Aceh Province in Indonesia and serves as a welcoming dance.

It is customary in our region to honor invited guests. This welcoming dance holds deep significance. Each dancer carries a tray filled with betel leaves. In the past, betel leaves were highly esteemed, and it was common for every household to offer them to guests.

My students executed this dance with great finesse. You can see it captured in several black and white photos that I'm sharing with this community. These photos are my contribution to the daily challenge #monomad curated by @monochromes. I hope you all enjoy the photos. Thank you.
