Domestic Hustle - (Acrylic on Canvas).
Good Day Fellas,
It's be a little while since I last posted any of my paintings here; above is a painting I just concluded recently, it's titled "Domestic Hustle" because......
It portrays the kind of struggle many Nigerians face mostly in the morning to get water from a public tag on the street in order to be able to have their bath and leave for work.
It's domestic because it happens around the house but it's indeed a hustle because most of the time, there's always this long queue of people who actually need water to do one thing or the other almost every morning, and you just have no option but to wait till it's your turn!
Title - “Domestic Hustle”
Medium - Acrylic on Canvas
Size - 15 x 11.5 inches
Year - 2022.
PROOFS OF OWNERSHIP!
The creativity begins with a pencil sketch on my miniature canvas pad using graphite pencil.
The second stage after the sketching; I blocked the figure with two different shades of gray.
At this stage, I had started to lay down my colours building up my middle tones and I also played with some dirty colours on the background of the painting.
At this stage, I started building up the lightening of the painting; I figured out my source of light right from the beginning of the sketch already so it was quite easier to just build on the already laid foundations I had.
It was at this stage I realized that I needed to work on the left leg of the figure as it doesn't look interesting nor convincing enough so I adjusted it.
And here's the finished work again, I just have to lay more emphasis on the lightening and it came out so attractive as you can see. 😍
