To run a business requires a lot of hard work, focus, dedication and concentration. The funniest thing about business is that there is no best trader. You can apply all the best skills in this world and still fails. This doesn't mean that you are a bad business man. Business failures comes from different angles which might be beyond your control. Since such thing can happen, it is advisable to get a business mindset and guide before venturing into business.

From the little experience I have gotten from being a business owner, I discovered that when you set up your business, you will see large numbers of inflow of customers trying to patronize you. This first set of people will be your friends and your family members. It is usually like this because they are the first set of people that you market your business to. Now when you noticed that they are coming to patronize you, don't fall for their pattern of buying. Permit me to explain this further.

Do you know that when they are buying, you will notice this two thing. They will buy in bulk and pay for some while the rest will be on credit. Let us use clothing business as a case study. If you see them behaving like that, don't fall for their sweet words because you want to rush and sell your goods. Don't be eager to sell, with steady focus and dedication, you will surely sell your product. It is better you wait than sell for those who will want to buy your goods on credit. Your principles should be strong, do what you do to A to B i.e don't consider family members nor friends, make sure they pick what they can pay for immediately. If they want the other items, tell them to come pick it up when they have money. Don't keep it for them, if you see anybody who wants to buy it, sell it so that you won't keep it and at the end the deal won't go through.

As a business man, you should make sure that you apply strictness when it comes to decision making. The decision you make will go along way into impacting your business negatively or positively. This is why I have my own principles. Principles helps to ensure that your business is being shaped in the right direction.

Why I choose No money no selling principles

When I first started my business in the year 2000, I was eager to sell my goods fastly. Anybody that came to me I will just sell and ask him/her to pay when they deem it fit. I did this for just 6 months and I started noticing that my business is lagging behind. I was unable to restock because my business fund is in the hands of some certain individuals. I kept pressuring them to pay off their debt, the more I talk the more they are adamant to repay. I pleaded with them but it was up to no avail. After 2 months of trying to meet up, my business finally crumbled. I learnt the hard way.

After this great fall, I learnt a lesson on how to handle business properly. I went on low key soliciting for another fund to kick start. Immediately I came up with my capital, I came up with a new principle. The principle states that No Money, No selling

I make sure that this principles is applicable to everybody. I don't consider family or friends. If you want to buy anything, you must pay before we can transact. At first people were thinking am wicked, but along the line, they later understand the motive behind my principles.

To those who are into business out there, do you have your principles, if Yes, what is it? Please feel free to air your view on this post.

Hello @tfame3865
It's a good principle, because the reality is that selling on credit is always a double-edged sword, we don't know if people will really pay or not, even with this quarantine many were left in arrears in so many ways that it is almost impossible to catch up after so long.
