Kim Quang Pagoda - a temple with simple and rustic architecture

avatar

Hi Hivers, where are you going today? I had a trip to a pagoda in Hue. A pagoda is located in a small road. With the ancient features of Hue city, the temple looks very solemn. This temple does not appear to be as big or magnificent as other temples. It is just a small temple with an idyllic rustic style close to the life of the people at here. The temple is named Kim Quang pagoda.

Pagoda architecture

The huge pagoda gate with the name of the temple is gilded and looks beautiful. The gate of the pagoda is built in the style of a three-way gate, consisting of large pillars and will have couplets on it. The gate of the pagoda is roofed with tiles and on the top is decorated with a symmetrical dragon on both sides, looking very majestic. The temple is designed simply, rustic in the old style. The houses in the temple are also somewhat old over the years. The paint on the wall was stained and there were some stains on it. The doors have faded paint and look quite old. I have heard from the monks that the temple is about to be remodeled and I am very happy about it.

The landscape of the pagoda

As soon as you enter the temple, you will see a lot of green trees planted around. The monks have been planting these stumps with their own hands for many years and now they are so big. In addition to the plants planted in the yard, the monks also planted flower pots in the back of the house. These plants are planted to provide fresh air at the back of the house. In the early morning or in the afternoon, the monks often meditate at this bonsai area to breathe in the fresh air and after the meditation, the monks will make a cup of tea to relax.

On holidays, the temple will decorate a lot of lanterns to make the temple look more sparkling and make the holiday atmosphere more solemn. I had the opportunity to go to the temple after Tet holiday, so the lanterns are still decorated and the monks have not taken them down.

These are stunning photographs! Your excellent narration on the joys of Kim Quang pagoda show us how very special this location is. It is always blissful to know that restoration is a priority, however the buildings and garden are still beautiful in your pictures. Thank you for sharing your adventure!
