New CMS and Photos of My Trip To Letchworth State Park - Last Trip of 2021

So my travel blog is up and running. I finally have the Content Management System (CMS) I've always wanted. That's really what WordPress is, a CMS that really helps you sort and present your content. Now that the travel blog is up and auto-posting to Hive with the Exxp WP app, I omitted photo galleries and Youtube posts from being posted to Hive. In the case of Youtube, all that content gets posted to my 3Speak, and I wasn't sure how the galleries would load through the Exxp WP app so I omitted them.

I'll post my image galleries to Hive manually, plus include the stories behind them. I like that idea better anyway. Hive deserves original content anyway and I love sharing my stories with you all.

So now that the blog is up and running I started adding image galleries. I love the fact that I'll have all my content in one place, searchable, and indexed by keyword.

Somehow I lost a lot of content from my trip to Letchworth State Park last November. It was the last trip of 2021. It was freezing cold in November and when I got home I just tossed all my stuff in storage and didn't look at it again until around February 🤣 In the meantime, photos got deleted from the phone, action cams got misplaced, and footage lost! Hopefully that all ends now.

Hey,that's me. The Dood!

So here I am taking a selfie in front of the ravine in Letchworth State Park. I think that would be considered a ravine, maybe a canyon? If you're ever in the western part of New York state I'd highly recommend checking out this state park especially if you're fortunate enough to visit around autumn.

A scenic overlook along the side of the road.

There were several overlooks throughout the park. Each one with a more spectacular view than the last.

Breath taking beauty everywhere you look.

The wall keeps people from falling over the cliff. I'd like to find out about hiking here. I'm pretty sure off-roading is prohibited. Would be cool to hike to the bottom and get some pictures looking up. Maybe next time.

The Dood posing next to his bike.

I'm pretty sure I posted this one here before, but I wanted to include it, I love the autumn colors in the background. I should have edited this one more to pull out some of the tree colors.

There are 2 decent waterfalls in the park.

There were 2 waterfalls that I found. This was the smaller one. The larger one is further back near the upper right-hand corner beneath the bridge.

Love the way the light shines off the mist.

This waterfall was really something to see. The image doesn't really do it justice. I loved the way the water reflects off the mist though. I believe there's another falls behind the bridge that is barely visible through the mist.

Me screwing around in GiMP. I liked the way this came out.

LOL, I look like a spaceman. I edited these in GiMP and made a mistake when playing with the "Curves" setting. I thought it was a happy, trippy mistake and added it to the gallery. The good news is, that I know what I did and can repeat this with other images.

Made camp just as the sun started to set.

So camping was closed in the park but Ossian National Forest was only 20 minutes away. It's state forest with free camping. I did a post about this trip before on here. I nearly froze to death. Not really, but it was pretty bad. It made me re-visit my sleeping bag choices in early spring and late autumn! I won't be making that mistake again.

So this was the first gallery posted to my new blog. I wanted to share it here with all my favorite Hivians! The 2022 riding season is here and I've already got some trips planned. I should have some fresh travel content coming soon. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend everyone!

A year or so ago, I remember that you revealed your face for the first time, and you were planning to travel and post content about your trips.

I love it when people put their plans into action.
Congrats on starting your travel journey!

All the pictures look beautiful!
Keep going on!

LMAO, this project has had one obstacle after another. I started this in 2018, then the bear market, then covid, and now no more excuses. I think I doxxed myself about 6 months ago when I revisited this idea and committed to getting this off the ground in 2022.

I love it when people put their plans into action.
Congrats on starting your travel journey!

Thanks, I'm taking it slow this season, but have a few trips planned already. I'm really excited to get started.

Thank you so much. I appreciate the kind words and support! Much appreciated!

You have some great landscapes to explore. I thought you guys called autumn 'fall'. Do you use both terms?

You have some great landscapes to explore.

There's a lot of beauty to explore. I really want to get out west for some desert scenery but that probably won't happen until next year.

I thought you guys called autumn 'fall'. Do you use both terms?

I use both. My lexicon is a bit skewed from being a citizen of the net for so long. 😄 I use autumn mostly, probably picked it up online. I also use soda instead of pop, and have a few other words that make the locals look at me sideways occasionally 🤣

A global citizen of the net.

I imagine with all the audio now we'll start seeing internet accents like military accents, considering everyone is from somewhere else and we all interact online. Probably just a matter of time. Remember, you heard it here first 😁

It's surprising that local accents endure, but then I think that forms when you are very young and before you are really consuming media, but then kids watch a lot of TV and now online videos.

We don't tend to talk about soda or pop here. Just refer to the brand or type of drink, but that can vary by where you are in the UK. There's a lot of local slang. Around here an 'old boy' can actually be someone young.
