The presale is over, and dCrops Beta Edition is now live!

I was fortunate enough to be a part of the @hive.pizza group buy and was able to pick up 41 packs during the initial dCrops Beta Presale. That's a lot of new cards to unpack but before we get to that...

What's New in BETA?

First and foremost, there are no reprints of Alpha cards in the Beta sale. And while there are only 3 cards per pack instead of 5 in Alpha, there are tons of all new crops, a new Legendary land, and exclusive to Beta: Trees, Recipes, and Equipment. I could write a whole post just on the differences in Beta and the new features and gameplay involved. If you want to know more specifics about what you can find in Beta packs, check out the official dCrops Beta announcement Here

Needless to say, there's tons of new and exciting things to find in these Beta packs.

Let's Rip Some Packs

As soon as the presale was over and Beta went live, I just couldn't wait. I needed to see what I'd get in my brand new packs. With 41 packs in hand, I was well on my way to 123 brand new Beta cards. Here are some of the highlights:

Preserve Barrel

The first Legendary card I ended up pulling was the Preserve Barrel. This is one of the new equipment blueprints that you can build on a plot of land. You can see the materials needed to make this piece of equipment listed on the bottom. The general idea for this card will be the ability to craft different preserves using the crops you harvest thoughout the year. For example, I'll be able to craft raspberry jam with raspberries I've harvested. Sometimes these crafted items can then be used to craft or cook other, more intricate items.

Recipes

The next two legendary rarity cards I opened were both recipes. Recipes will be important once NPCs are introduced in the game and may ask you to prepare different foods for them. In order to learn the recipe, these NFTs will need to be burned. These recipes will then require certain ingredients to prepare from both harvested plants and/or crafted materials. Stuffed Eggplant for example, will require 2 eggplant, 1 oil, 1 dill, 1 oregano, 1 tomato, and 2 bell peppers. Finally, you'll need a specific piece of equipment to cook the food. For the Stuffed Eggplant example, it will need to be cooked in the Microwave. Not exactly my go to for cooking stuffed eggplant in real life, but that is what the recipe requires. The more you cook the same recipe, the more your proficiency will increase which will result in a higher quality product.

Out of my 123 cards pulled, I ended up with 3 legendaries. That's nearly a 2.5% legendary pull rate, which I'm extremely considering the simulated run showed ~1.8% drop rate. This is in addition to the numerous Common, Rare, and Epic rarity cards I pulled in this group. I couldn't be happier with these results and can't wait to put these cards to good use. Hope you were/will be as lucky as I was.

Thanks 😁
Too bad that isn't true in all the games I play. Or maybe I'm just not that much of a Legend 😜
