My Nineties Friday Edition, Week Six!

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is finally upon us. It feels great to have a few days with much less to have to get done. Since it is Friday I will be writing up my entry for the #NinetiesFriday contest. Every Friday you can share anything you want from the decade of the nineties. And I mean anything! I just want to say thank you @geneeverett for starting the event and continuing to support it weekly. You can win up to 6 HSBI by participating.

This week I decided to include some more Seinfeld because it was one of my favorite shows from the nineties. I'm going to have to start sharing some Friends clips too one of these days as well. Let's go ahead and dive right into the fun!

First off, anybody remember these? The good old Game Boy! It seemed like everyone had one, they were a lot of fun to play! This was way before the smart phone...

Seinfeld

indystar.com

I felt like sharing another Seinfeld clip, the one about Festivus. The holiday George's father created to replace Christmas, or as he said "A Festivus for the rest of us!"

Foo Fighters

nyctastemakers.com

I know I have shared some of their music in the past, because they are one of my favorite bands from the 90's. After Kurt Cobain's death and the end of Nirvana, Dave Grohl formed a new band with him as the lead vocalist. The Foo Fighters have been producing music ever since. It was a real loss when Taylor Hawkins passed away a couple of years ago, he was a really talented guy. Here's "My Hero":

Shakira

https://fmdos.cl/

Since I did spend most of the 1990's living in Spanish speaking countries I like to include at least one song in Spanish. Shakira has always been one of my favorite artists from the time I first heard her music in 1996, so I'll be including one of her hits from the 90's.

Way back in the mid 1990's Shakira had taken the Spanish speaking world by storm with her album "Pies Descalzos". This was before she launched here English musical career and before she went blonde. This song was a big hit of hers off of that album, "Un Poco De Amor":

That will just about do it for my Friday post. I hope you enjoyed it, these are always a lot of fun to put together. Feel free to join us and put together a #NinetiesFriday this next week. Just use the #ninetiesfriday tag and I would also do a shoutout to @geneeverett just so it won't accidentally get skipped. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Have a great weekend everyone!

And since I am posting in the #freecompliments community I just wanted to remind everyone to take some time today to be kind. A little kindness can make a huge difference in someone's life. Please check out the community and consider joining us!

And a quick shoutout to @inthenow because I did include some hard rock music in here!

Man, that Gameboy it such a cool thing back then, talking about portable gaming. I have never had a colored one, only the classic black and white one. I feel like the coolest kid in the neighborhood owning one, and pretty sure my parents were having a headache buying me one. !LOLZ

I only had the black and white as well, the color was expensive. Weren't they cool when they first came out? To have a true portable gaming system?

haha you are right my friend, so many memories of that little thing. at least our early entry to the digital world, an escape from the more physical play that we did on our childhood. But now the parents should ask the kids to play outside since the kids are glued to the screen.

I so remember the Game Boy!😊 My youngest son moved out, got Married, and left several very large boxes of Game Boy equipment Lol!
Finally Monday and Dad delivered all the goods to his new Wife Lol!😇🤣

Those Game Boy's go for some serious money now in working condition. People want to buy back a piece of their youth!

For me the Gameboy I had was the brick classic one, had it many years before Pokemon was released and played some great games.. then Pokemon was finally released in Australia and I got it for Christmas or my birthday, such a magical time!

@geneeverett This is a great idea for a series/post idea doing a nineties thing and even though I have only shared posts about childhood stuff from the nineties back ages ago, an idea like this was always something I wanted to catch on.

Good work mate, I will eventually have to do a post for it, except Australia is ahead of other places for being a Friday 🤣

Pokemon was such a fun game! We've been having a lot of fun getting this event up and rolling. Post doesn't have to be on Friday, just anytime during the week works to be in the contest. I'm looking forward to seeing a post about your 90's memories!
