Silver Gold Stackers Twelve Days of Christmas, Finally Day 12, And a Gold Market Update

Happy Friday everyone! I hope the week has gone well for you all. I'm still recovering from my latest illness I picked up this past week. I don't recommend it, and I hope you are all staying healthy. This one has been a little odd because even my thought processes aren't quite as sharp as normal which is a bit disturbing. Hopefully this post doesn't turn out too badly as a result.

Today I decided to finish up the Silver Gold Stackers Twelve Days of Christmas, a list of things you might like to receive from your secret Santa or just for Christmas in general in the precious metals category. It is Day 12 so I might as well go for the gusto, the big one if you will. As I have mentioned a few times in the past I'm a treasure hunter and I've always wanted some true shipwreck gold or jewels. I 've never had luck over my years of searching, so purchasing them might be the easiest at this point.

I've always wanted something that was recovered from the Atocha, and why not wish for one of the Atocha money chains recovered from the wreckage?

For those unfamiliar with Nuestra Señora de Atocha, it was a large Spanish galleon build in 1621 to carry treasures from the Americas to Spain. It was heavily armed against pirates and heavily loaded with gold, silver and jewels at the the time it sank in a hurricane on September 6, 1622 just off the Florida Keys. In the mid 1970's the wreckage was located by Mel Fisher and family, and after a long fought court battle got to keep most of it!

There have also been many near flawless emeralds found as well, I wouldn't mind one of these either!

These days you do have to be careful. There are many unscrupulous people out there trying to sell off fake shipwreck treasures. Unless you can match the item back to the manifests found by Mel Fisher it is likely a fake. So buyer beware!

In the early days in the Americas after the Spanish had conquered the area there was a lack of coins available to pay for items. The solution? Goldsmiths would produce money chains where you could cut of a link to use as payment. These were very common in the early days in the Caribbean and South America. There are many of these still all over the bottom of the Caribbean from shipwrecks and even occasionally found on beaches after washing up in storms. Not only that gold and silver coins as well. It's time for me to get back to Florida with my metal detector!

I would love to have any shipwreck items in my collection, but a gold money chain would be the dream come true!

Gold continues to perform well (as opposed to crypto.) It's hanging just above $4,2000 per Troy ounce and hasn't made any large gains or losses in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully we'll see some more price improvements in the coming weeks before new years!

On the TGLD front I'm continuing to get daily HBD payments that equals 17% of what I put in initially, so I'm happy with that!

There hasn't been much change in the SPDR GLD price to which it's pegged, but as there are it will be interesting to see how the shares are valued and payouts adjusted! Time will tell!
