Three Tune Tuesday with some Great Guitar!

What a crazy week so far! Yesterday I was in and out all day, and didn't have time to put together a decent post. Today is a little better thank goodness. Because it's Tuesday it means I'll be jumping back into Three Tune Tuesday. Last week I just didn't feel inspired musically so I didn't make one up. Today is a great day to catch up.

Most of my life I have been a collector of coins, I picked that up from my dad. I still like to search around and find interesting items to add to the collection. Occasionally I find something really interesting, and I found this oddity a few weeks ago. It's not something I own because the price tag is a little steep at the moment, but it's cool enough that I would love to have one.

This Fender Stratocaster guitar is actually a coin made by the Solomon Islands in 2022. The Solomon Islands are in the South Pacific for those who don't know much about them. They produce several commemorative coins every year, and some are really nice like this one.

About the coin:

from numista.com

It's one Troy ounce of solid silver and only 6,000 were minted. Prices seem to run around $150 and up depending on who you buy it from and whether or not it is graded. I wish I would have heard about this one when they were first offered! Oh well, a day late and a dollar short...

The Fiesta Red Stratocaster is a beautiful guitar. Strats are played by some of the most legendary rockers, although often modified to be personalized to each artist's preferences. My guitar wasn't a real high end model but I bought it when I was younger and much poorer. But I still have after all of these years!

I felt some hard rock music would fit well with the nice guitar coin, so here we go!

Volbeat

Volbeat is a Danish heavy metal band formed in Copenhagen in 2001. They have been a mainstream band since around 2010. However, in 2013 they released the album "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies" that really put them in the on the map. It was interesting because a Danish band wrote an entire album about characters from the old American wild west. One of their biggest hits was the song "Lola Montez". She was the ultimate shady lady, born in Ireland but used her charms to become mistress to the king of Bavaria who made her a countess. Her influence on him turned into a problem forcing him to abdicate his throne. She then fled the country and headed to America to cement her place in the history of the wild west.

This next one is a fun song, I hadn't heard it in awhile so I couldn't resist adding it in just for fun!

This last one came off of the Beyond Hell/Above Heaven that was released in 2010. It's a great album with some really good songs. Here's one of my favorites, "Heaven Nor Hell":

And because the coin came from the Solomon Islands it only seemed right to share a picture of the tropical paradise. I've never been to that part of the south Pacific, but I would love to have the chance. Just take a look at that water... Wow, it makes me miss living in the Caribbean!

That will wrap up my Three Tune Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed the music and if not, at least the really cool coin from the tropics. With the cooler months coming up those tropical waters are going to start to look really inviting! For those who don't already participate in #threetunetuesday feel free to join in the fun, just use the tag #TTT or #threetuneteusday and not a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze who started and continues to sponsor the event. You can win some HSBI in the process as well.

Have a great week everyone and thank you for all of your support. It really is greatly appreciated! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below. Thanks again!

Lola Montez is definitely my favorite Volbeat song. It has a really good groove to it and it's a lot of fun to listen to!

It really is a cool song, it was the one that first got me listening to the rest of their music. I still find in funny that a Danish band wrote a whole album dedicated to the American wild west, but they did a great job!

I didn't realize there was a whole story behind it and that Lola was a real person. I just thought it was a cool song!

Yes, from Irish peasant to Countess of Bavaria, not a bad climb only have to flee the country after her influence destroyed the King's reign. She was a well known figure in the west, died young of syphilis if I recall and is buried in NYC!

It gets weirder every year doesn't it? Shells used to be currency in the Pacific once upon a time, so maybe not that weird!
