Three Tune Tuesday with some great guitarists

I can't believe it's Tuesday again. It comes faster every week... That means it's Three Tune Tuesday yet once again. I just wanted to say thank you @ablaze for starting and continue to support the event.

This week I had been pondering different themes or connections I could pull together for the three songs of the week. Today I finally decided to feature some great guitarists. Where to start on that list? It would be almost too long too pick out the best of the bunch. So then I thought what about great guitarists who also do the lead vocals in their bands. The theme of the week was born!

Jimi Hendrix

The first to come to my mind had to be none other than the late, great Jimi Hendrix. The man was a legend with the guitar and has influenced rock guitarists to this day. In this first video I want you to please notice just how basic the setup was on stage. There weren't fireworks, lights, or costume changes, just the raw ability of the musicians. Nothing like a Taylor Swift show. This is a great song, "Foxy Lady".

Billy Gibbons

Before Billy Gibbons formed the band ZZ Top, he was in a band called the Moving Sidewalks. As it turns out his band opened for Jimi Hendrix and Gibbons would routinely play the opening of the song "Foxy Lady" just before Hendrix would come on stage. So there was a great connection between these two. Gibbons is famous for his later band ZZ Top where he sings lead as well as lead guitar. He's one of the great guitarists out there who also sings! Here's "Sharp Dressed Man"!

Eric Clapton

The last one wasn't too hard to pick, I had to go with Eric Clapton. The man is a guitar legend and well as legend on vocals. Clapton was in the band The Yardbirds in the mid sixties. You may not recognize the band name, but they later went on the form Led Zepellin. By then Clapton was out in several short lived bands where he created some of his greatest songs. One of those bands was Derek and the Dominos, that's where the legendary song "Layla" was written. Here's "Layla":

That will just about do it for this Tuesday. I had a good time picking out some fun songs I hadn't heard in quite some time.
