The performances across the board are outstanding, but Tom Hanks truly elevates the entire film. It is impossible to imagine anyone else playing Forrest Gump. He brings warmth, innocence, humor, and emotional depth to a character that could have easily become a caricature in less capable hands.

PS - I must say one last item, even though I love this film I must admit Pulp Fiction should have won the big Oscar in 1994.
