Self care is a priority, not a luxury - Hive learners

Hello,

21st-century life is not an easy one to pursue. The pressure of growth is immense and it often becomes hard to cope with. Pressure or stress was always there in every generation and it is not new. The main issue with the present time is we are either unable to acknowledge it or regulate it. Ups and downs are always there in any journey, the ability of you to withstand is what you have to strengthen. WHO has also stated that stress is becoming more than just a mental dilemma, stress is now adversely affecting life and society as well.

I was once employed in a startup and now further continuing with my studies, faced a good sum of failures as well. And it is common if you find it relatable with you as well.

In this journey, I have tried to cope or overcome stress to increase my productivity as well as lead a happy life too. Here are some techniques that I use often to cope with it.

1. Proper diet and meditation

A good diet is necessary because if you are low on energy, you won't be able to do much. You always try to charge your phone enough and check it often, why don't you check yourself the same way? Give yourself a priority as well. Managing proper diet and meditation isn't a rocket sign. It is not a hardcore activity as well. This is the easiest one, now if you find it hard then buddy you should love yourself enough first than anything other. Meditation helps you to focus-defocus and it helps in regulating stress as well.

2. Planning

One must always plan its every hour or every day beforehand. It is necessary because if you do not have a proper plan then you might wander in thoughts or procrastinate. And incomplete things give more stress than anything else, it haunts you and takes your every joy of that moment. Keep a decent plan, write it somewhere and check it often.

3. Be with your dear ones

Find time for this. It is the best thing you can have. Talking, and expressing helps in understanding your thoughts as well. And you can find other ways as well to sail through a problem. These people will take care of you at every step directly or indirectly, they play a hidden role. If you are an introvert - you have family, if you are an extrovert - family + friends. You will always find someone to help you out, if not people then god for sure.

4. Mentoring and guidance

We all are not born perfect, and to be perfect at something, mentoring and guidance become a tool. Get your life checked once, mentors can help you find your actual problem and can break down it in steps as well. With proper guidance, you will find it easy to regulate your stress. Managing life is becoming art itself, Mentors will help you in finding your style of art and how you can draw it as well. Visit them once, after all, what's bad in this if someone other than you can help you figure out what you need?

5. Stress is a mind-dilemma

Once I was passing a street and I found a person, I guess he was homeless at that time. It was raining heavily so I stood there and started a little talk as well. I asked him don't you feel pressure or burden? You are having a hard time with your life. He said I don't know what is burden or stress. I live like this. I eat, I do, I sleep, and I don't have this much time to remind myself of pressure. I am already consumed and can't sit or think that I am stressed. And even If I think about what help it is going to make me.

I learned a lesson from him and that was, that you always acknowledge stress, and pressure too much that you end up being associated with this only, It is the same as if you always say I am not good at this or that and you eventually find yourself failing in it. If you say I am feeling stressed or remind yourself constantly that you are stressed because of this or that then believe me half of the time it isn't stress at all, it is you who keeps thinking about it and making it a bigger issue of your life. This is my thought or my take, it helps me.

Thanks

You're right, stress occurs in our day to day activities and most often the lifestyle we take determines how well we deal with it. A proper diet , meditation, planning, and the other keys you mentioned no doubt will help manage one's stress

Nice inputs... perhapes getting another perspective, taking a break, doing something different once a while will help a lot to recharge yourself to face the stresses of life.

Problem is when we are stuck and nothing is working out its frustrating...

Maybe you need a helping hand in one form or other and more evaluation on the direction your heading...
...
Life we have so many challenges, and when not able to pass them, we feel like failur...

Maybe its time to take a break, to take things easy, do things slowly but properly and get somewhere eventually... Rome was not built in a day after all!!
