My Entry To Graffiti Lettering Contest #11 (PIXEL)

Hello my creative friends, I found this contest about graffiti lettering which is already familiar with you all as we had been participating before in similar contest. I am sharing it here so you guys may be inspired to join. The word that we will be working on is PIXEL

How Did I Make My Entry:

I made a rough sketch of how I want my letters positioned. The big X, I put in the middle as the focal point and the rest of the letters are equally spaced on both sides of it just like in the screen capture above. It looks flat and intimidating at this stage but who knows what will happen next.

I am working on the letter P here. Had a few tries as you can see on the periphery they are scattered around. Problem is the letter P does not have that gap in the middle so I had to think of ways to make that happen. It was challenging but doable. The letter X on the other hand is looking cool taking the spotlight. However I am feeling a bit underwhelmed as the letters are looking flat and uninspiring at this stage.

Here I played with the shapes. Twisted them turned them around to get the right angle. I had to break the letter X and made two separate shapes to give it some interesting look. I think this is looking good now and I am feeling more inspired to push it.

I think the blocks of letters are looking plain and so I added some textures. Love it. I put some dots around them and some white dusts on top YAY even more like it. I guess that worked out fine. The final touch would be the background to make the letters pop. Hope you like it. I can not wait to see your entries.
