Transfer funds safely!

I have been a "poster girl" for PEAKD (and SteemPeak before it) ever since it was released. There are so many advantages over the default low-feature front end that is HIVE.BLOG, and I wanted to share one of them today which I hope will help many people.

Over the years, I've known several people who have accidentally transferred funds to the wrong account by typing the recipient's name incorrectly. Punctuation makes that even more confusing. Say you want to send some HIVE to John Doe... is his account @johndoe or @john-doe or @john.doe ??? Or does he spell his name "Jon" instead of the usual "John" spelling? Before you know it, you've sent funds to the wrong person and might never get them back again.

Navigate to anyone's blog page. You can see their profile pic ("avatar") and read their name to be sure you're on the right page. If something doesn't look right, that's a clue you're about to send to the wrong person!

Only when you're sure that you're on the correct user's page, click the button marked "ACTIONS" and a drop-down menu will appear. One of the options on that menu is: "SEND HIVE/HBD" and clicking that option will open the usual pop-up for sending funds to that user, eliminating any error you might produce if you typed their username, yourself! All you have to do is fill-in the "Amount" and "Memo" fields, as usual, and rest easy in the assurance that a typo won't send your funds to the wrong person!
