A friend you separated from in a space of 12 years and you were still able to reconnect that easily. There must be something unique you both shared in the past.

I wasn't separated from the friend. We communicate from time to time, but haven't seen for years. We live in different states btw.
There are some friends that even if we don't communicate for like 3-6 months when we speak over the phone, it's like we have been communicating daily. No offense for not keeping in touch for long, just friends who are understanding.
Haha, I just read your last sentence again. When you have good friends, there are always somethings to remember about them. It could be how they made things easy for you, or just how they understand you, the work you did together and some advice.
Good friends are good friends and distance isn't a barrier.
