Manticao Rice Field- Also Known as The Salad Bowl of Manticao, Misamis Oriental

This part of the place is located at the front areas were main road located. This very old acacia trees already grows here 100 years ago already and it is already known as an ancient trees. Lots of wild animals like birds living here and some of it are building its nest at the big branches of this acacia tree. Most of the farmers worked here are find a perfect place to rest and eat their snacks and lunch, and this area is very perfect because of its shady place brought by this big tree.

At the middle of the rice field is this three rocky road and each trail leads to different parts of the place. This road straight up going to the main road and and also on some Barangays of Manticao. This is also served as a shorcut to all residents here and it is located at the middle of the rice field that is why the field is divided into two parts. The other side of the road is installed with electrical posts and long cables so electricity can be distributed by consumers. This field was already developed here many years ago and almost 60 farmers are working here.

Most of the unique small houses and cellphone towers are also built near at the field and some of the small unique houses are built at the middle of the rice field owned by some owners here so that they can watched the place particularly at the field where lots of rice plants locates. Each divisions of the rice paddies is made with pile of muddy particles and it built very perfectly and it is used a trail to all farmers here so they can avoided stepping on the muddy rice field. There are also rice storage structure built here but it was totally abandoned and built a new one.

Rice farmers are already harvested rice grains last Week and every harvesting season reaching up to 100 sacks of rice grains. Most of the rice grains came from here are transported to other Cities like Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City. This can help the Municipality in terms of good economy. Lots of coconut trees surrounded this areas and some banana plants and truly this area is an agricultural site. Only two big ancient trees can be seen and founs here and all of it are acacia tree and it already well presserved.

This long concrete canal is used as an irrigation systems for entire rice paddies here. The water flowed here comes from the river and it flows a long way heading to the man-hole before reaching this wide and open field. This structure is very useful and important to all farmers here so they can easily cultivate the land here and can easily removed those wild grass covered at the rice paddies. Farming animals like Vows, Carabaos and Goats also raised here because this area is good for farm raising animals.

Some of the paddy are now cultivated and it is good to put those grains and let it go for a few months before replanting it to the entire field. They don't used tractors to cultivate the soil instead they used carabao pulled by native plow and it is done in very simple and manual ways.

This rice grains thresher is also very important so the grains and rice halks will be easily to separate. Every harvesting season, they used this kind of mechanical thing so their will be easily done. This thing is also supported with wheels so they can easily pulled from one place to another by pulling using big trucks.

Because of the great and big contributions for the Municipality economy, the Government made a perfect plan by making a a farmers group and association. Every Meetings, they used this structures as meeting area and some of the grains are stocked in here so the grain will not wet in times when there is a heavy rain. It is made of solid concrete designed by few paints. Manticao Rice Field is truly very helpful specially in terms of agricultural activities. Until next posts, have a nice and safe travel everyone.
