HOW I ALMOST DIED OF LOW SELF-ESTEEM

A few years back, a time when I was 16 years of age. I was short, shinning black and gentle. I stayed in a class of 30; 20girls and 10boys. I was the shortest of them all.

My short startue was a disadvantage to me, I couldn't approach a girl I liked because she was taller than I am. I couldn't speak confidently in class because my colleagues are always ready to pounce on my weakness.

I was sad. If that alone was the only problem I had it would have been somehow easy for me because I always know I will grow tall.

Biology explained Gene transfer and heredity, my parents are tall so I knew I would be tall, I just needed time to truly manifest.

I wasn't just plagued with shortness alone, I happened to be the only bald male in a class of 30.

I wouldn't speak into matters I should speak into because someone somewhere is finding the best opportunity to call me bald.

I hated myself for it, every morning is a nightmare to me, I check myself through the mirror and many times I feel dejected. It felt like I wasn't complete 😔.

Everyday I died slowly, I lost my confidence as a public speaker, I lost confidence as a good writer, my grades dropped drastically.

I hated my biology teacher because every time she teaches heredity, it reminds me of another Gene I inherited from my father.

It was so bad that I found excuse why not to go to school anymore. I would stay alone for a longer time because I really want to avoid the pressure that comes with my weakness.

At age 19, I recovered from my own terror. I realized I gave people a reason to mock me.

I self trained myself to find pleasure in my own beauty. I started to adopt a few steps I will love to share.

Overcoming low self-esteem can be can be easy if you adopt these few steps.

HOW TO OVERCOME LOW SELF-ESTEEM

1. Accept you can't control everything:

I realized trying to control what cannot be controlled will shift us from the things that mattered. For years I focused on surfing the internet on how to cure baldness. I was on a quest to protect myself from a reality I can just accept.

I decided to place a premium worth on myself, each day I look at the mirror before heading to school. I call myself beauty and all sort of sweet names. I started doing the things I wanted to do. People called me bald and short but I accepted it.

In less than 2month I had my confidence back even when my Frontline hair isn't encouraging.

  1. Spend more time building your abilities:

I realized i saw a better me when I spent More of my time training my graphics design and content writing skills.

I got too busy that I didn't place any value on things that wouldn't help me become better.

It is possible to set ourselves free from low self-esteem. It is a simple process of accepting the things you can't change and focusing on the things you have control over.

If we can take more time to build our strength and abilities, it is essential for people to change from speaking unhealthy about us to respecting our worth.

At age 20, even after graduation my class mates still respect my ability. I happened to be good enough to write my emotions, earn from it and most importantly build for myself a future.

If we can focus on the things that matter, we will grow enough to attract the respect of people.

Don't look down on yourself, there's more to you than a bunch of assumptions cooked up by people.🥂🥂

Awesome post, yes people also in some cases assume other people feel a certain way. In many cases people got their own problems thinking about themselves. However, that's why as well i think programs like ubi will help so many people. Suicide is on the rise and drug use is mixed into this. So studies show ubi will fix some of this desperation.

So sorry you had to go through that much. But if you hadn't, you wouldn't have learnt how to appreciate you for you.
