This is my entry to the Writing Prompt by @mariannewest for 23 June 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3143: a new kind of fuel.

Professor Jones and his team of researchers had been working on the project for months now.

Finally, they could see some light at the end of the tunnel, as their experimentation with different materials and methods had shown promising and encouraging results, and various investors had appeared who were willing to fund the project.

So, when Professor Jones was asked to give a press conference to brief both the investors and the public, he started with the following words:

“What we have discovered is a new kind of fuel with the potential to save the planet energy wise.”.

As soon as the news reporters and the journalists heard this statement, they all raised their hands to ask him questions, because this was a very blunt statement made by a top expert in global energy solutions.
