Writing Prompt: “not gonna fail this time”, entry posted by thepavsalford
A big hug to all members of the Freewriters community!
May writing inspiration always be with you.
This is my entry to the Writing Prompt by @mariannewest for 13 June 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3133: not gonna fail this time.
How long will it take me to become a successful writer?
Will my articles and books manage to attract readers right from the beginning or will I have to hone my writing skills and rise to the ranks of successful authors slowly and steadily with time?
I don’t know how much I would be willing to pay, if a person could safely answer these questions, but I don’t think there is anyone who could give a definite answer, because nobody really knows, and neither do I.
One thing is for sure though.
I’m not gonna fail this time.
I’ve written for various online writing platforms since the dawn of the era of user-generated content and online writing, and I’ve witnessed the eventual decline and demise of them, leaving writers like myself out in the cold and looking for greener pastures.
The thing is that after you get your feet wet as a writer, you are bitten by the bug of having your thoughts and ideas published and read by people, and there is no way back, even you don’t realize it yourself.
Because, at the end of the day, writing is a lifelong habit that you can’t break.
It’s a one-way street.
The only solution is to accept yourself as a writer first, before others are ready to accept you as such.
So yes, I have to keep a positive mind at all times, and reject failure as an option.
