Writing Prompt: “there’s no job for Bob”, entry posted by thepavsalford
Hi, my friends on the Freewriters community!
I wish you all a highly inspirational week.
This is my entry to the Writing Prompt by @mariannewest for 28 June 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3148: there’s no job for Bob.
As soon as I read this writing prompt, I recalled a movie that I had watched a few days ago.
The movie script fits the writing prompt perfectly, and the title of the movie is: “Bob the Butler”.
Bob is a Jack of all trades and a master of none.
He’s been job hunting for some time but is never lucky to stay in a job for more than a day, or a couple of days, at best.
In some cases, he is fired within just a few hours, after he manages to turn the whole place into a war zone.
He follows a weird job hunting method.
In order to find a job, he opens the yellow pages and reads the names of potential employers, choosing to contact them in alphabetical order.
For example, when he finishes with the letter A, he goes on with the letter B, so after barbers, he continues with butlers, like playing the lottery numbers!
It’s little wonder why he gets fired every single time, which causes him to believe that there’s no job for Bob.
Finally, and against all odds, he finds happiness and love, and builds a financially stable life with a (rich) woman of his dreams.
