Travel and Project Management Experiences

Clay introduces himself as the first official Project Manager for the show and shares his experiences with travel, including his first trip outside of the US and recent experiences in Argentina and Thailand. He shares his experience with Splinterlands, a digital nomad company, and how it led him to his current job in Thailand. Clay shares his thoughts on the recent layoffs at his company and the impact on his personal life, emphasizing the importance of being flexible and open to new opportunities. He mentions traveling through Denver, Colorado to pick up Rondon from Splinterfest and staying in Denver for a few days on the way back. He also shares his recent trip to Buenos Aires, where he spent three months on a tourist visa.

Food Culture Discussion

The team had an in-depth discussion about their experiences with various food cultures. Clay shared his love for Thai food and his struggles with maintaining a keto diet in Thailand. He also shared his favorite dish, Noiang, and advised against visiting Kaison, a tourist trap in Bangkok. The group also discussed their experiences with eating insects due to their high protein content. They also touched upon cultural differences in food preferences and how what might seem strange to one culture might be normal to another. Towards the end, Clay shared his observations about the street food culture in Bangkok and expressed his surprise at the vibrant scene.

Exotic Fruits and Personal Journeys

Clay shared his experiences of trying exotic fruits in Thailand with bjangles and discussed the variety of unique looking fruits, including ones that exploded with flavors. He also shared his personal philosophy, which he developed during his travels and his observations of Buddhism in Thailand. Clay also shared his personal experiences about feeling pressure to conform to societal expectations and his journey of self-discovery, emphasizing the importance of finding one's own happiness and authenticity. Clay also expressed his struggles with depression, his new position at the DAO, and his unexpected layoff from the Splinterlands project. He reached out to Matt for his opinion on an idea Clay had, and Matt showed support for it and offered to put the proposal out himself. Clay highlighted the importance of pursuing passions, even if they may not lead to the intended outcomes.

Splinterlands Governance and Exchange Market Discussions

Clay acknowledged the challenges and skepticism within the crypto space and reaffirmed his commitment to driving value to Splinterlands (SPS). He highlighted the importance of initiatives to increase the value of SPS, while also respecting the community's will in terms of governance. Clay discussed his previous conflict with the company regarding the use of bot and battle helpers, emphasizing the need to separate the company's interests from the DAO. He also shared his positive experience working with Matt and acknowledged Matt's support for decentralization and the community's voice representation within the company and the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The conversation ended with Clay discussing the challenges facing the community regarding the exchange market and proposing a new partnership with Flow Desk, a market maker that is fully transparent with their offers. He also emphasized the need for education and transparency throughout the process. The speakers expressed their interest in the team's philosophy regarding their project management role at the DAO and highlighted the importance of their experience with blockchain, market makers, and DAOs. They also emphasized the validity of the team's opinion due to their expertise.

Community Solutions and SPS Inflation Discussion

The discussion focused on proposed solutions from the community for a problem, with a particular emphasis on the pros and cons of each solution. Clay shared his thoughts, expressing his preference for respecting significant token holders' opinions and his opinion on expanding LPs and paying SPS inflation only to pools with an SPS pair. He expressed concerns about the current state of the system, where they are paying people to facilitate not doing their primary purpose. Clay suggested the opening of new types of pools on different platforms to redirect the SPS inflation and emphasized the importance of educating the community about these issues. He also discussed the rework of the leaderboard prizes and the options being considered, as well as his approach to handling complaints and suggestions. The group seemed to agree with Clay's proposal for a new system of reimbursement for his proposals, recognizing the need for structure and productivity.

Exploring Collaborations and Marketing Strategies

Clay and Hep explored the possibility of Splinterlands collaborating with other upcoming web3 games for promotions and potential deals. They also debated the sustainability of releasing multiple mini-sets every year and the marketing strategies surrounding them. Clay suggested creating promo cards featuring notable influencers and collaborating with them for marketing. They also discussed ineffective marketing strategies, the high cost of acquiring new players, and the importance of improving the new player experience and retaining players. Hep agreed with Clay's views on marketing strategies and shared his experiences playing a game in Thailand, indicating potential value in tokenomics and incentivizing the SPS flywheel. The discussion ended with a reference to "Hep," suggesting a previous conversation or agreement.

Hive's Impact and Potential for Real-World Projects

Clay shared his experiences and perspective on the impact of Hive in Venezuela and other countries facing economic hardship. He emphasized the potential for real-world projects to promote the platform and gain more users. Hep acknowledged the importance of people making a living, but also recognized the potential for some to exploit the platform. Clay also discussed global disparities he witnessed during his visit to Cambodia and highlighted the importance of building a sustainable system for everyone to use. The discussion also included the potential expansion of the People's Guild to include a tournament series with charitable contributions. Clay also clarified that there is already an SPS DAO account on Hive and he is supposed to start making tournaments as part of his proposal. Hep expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and his positive impression of Clay, stating that the DAO has made the right decision in hiring him as the community manager project manager.
