Pickles found a comfortable spot on the bed and watched her owner pace back and forth with her phone.

The look of disappointment could been seen on her companions face. The promotion she sorely deserved was given to another.

It's very sad to watch whom you love be in a sad state and it even a worse situation to hear that what you deserve has been giving to another person. Nice short story!
