50 Beautiful Paintings of People at Windows and Balconies For You to See Right Now

You won’t find another collection like this one online, but, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Hello, and be welcome to my new post of paintings.

It’s been a year since I posted a collection of beautiful paintings on this platform.

“Great art is an instant arrested in eternity” – James Huneker

Some of these are by renowned artists; others are from people you have never heard of. You will find three paintings by French artist Caillebotte; the three of them are just too damn good not to be included.

There’s something about just opening the window and standing on a balcony that gives you some sort of peace and calmness.

I think artists have thought about that too since so much of their art has to do with people looking through or standing near windows and balconies.

Most of these paintings are from the 19th century and before; just a few are from the 20th and fewer are from this 21st century.

It is our duty to preserve real art, art that is beautiful and inspiring at the same time.

In this disastrous 21st century, when art has gone so bad and all you see is ugliness everywhere, let’s bring back some beauty, shall we?

This last painting is the one that inspired the famous scene in Michael Mann’s crime drama Heat (1995) where the character of Neil McCauley, played by Robert De Niro, is staring out at the Pacific Ocean through his window at home.
