Hello everyone!

It's been a long time since I had a post about Phasmophobia because unfortunately it became one of those forgotten games that I usually update just because I hope that someday we will play it. I also have to admit that I've been mostly to blame because I've been the one who hasn't wanted to dedicate time to anything else but Albion (you could see it in my previous post).

Yesterday I decided to relive this game after updating it every time something new was added and I never expected to see how much this game has changed since the last time I played it. Phasmophobia is currently the scariest ghost hunting experience you can get anywhere.

20230129010758_1.jpg

With me yesterday were @mrwisu and @sydechan, the worst ghost hunters I have ever seen in my existence, but I still love them with all my heart. Although sadly Wisu couldn't play 100% with us as he was having issues with the game and also marital problems, @sydechan and I had to use 100% of our brains to determine which ghosts we were dealing with.

Spoiler: We failed almost every mission.

I don't know if it's just that I've never paid attention to these details before or they're things they added in the most recent updates: But fog in Phasmophobia? It seems crazy to me.

I don't know exactly how it works yet, because on maps like Maple Campfire I feel like the fog can totally affect perceiving whether what you're seeing is just another player or the silhouette of the ghost running towards you; so far I only know that on maps where you're inside a house you don't notice the fog as much unless you're outside, but just look at what the fog is capable of doing:

If you look closely you will notice that the silhouette can be distinguished in the first screenshot, and this is something that I am absolutely sure is new since it didn't exist before. I don't know if it's also because before I didn't like to play with the graphics to the maximum and I didn't notice this kind of detail, but now that I see Phasmophobia with this level of quality, it makes me think about how perfectly worked the artistic section of this game is.

20230129005345_1.jpg

One thing I had noticed is that in the first few games the shadows looked a bit rustic, as if they were out of place and not as smoothed out as they were supposed to look. Well, actually the game in general was going a little rough on my first few games, but the more I played the more the PC seemed to keep caching things and being able to play smoothly, being able to play at +50 FPS on the rest of the games we were playing.

Apparently they also modified a few things in the lobby as we could also closely examine all the cursed objects that accompany us in every Phasmo game.

20230129010301_1.jpg

I've never seen the Ouija board so close, lol.

20230129015147_1.jpg

In one game I ended up dying stupidly against a Deogen and I also got a very terrible scare since we were totally confident against this ghost. The Deogen is a ghost that runs at extreme speeds but only when it is far away from people, you can't hide from this ghost so the strategy to counter it is to simply circle around something that is separating them; but I didn't even have time for this.

Apparently there's some kind of bug because I was in front of the Deogen, but he was targeting Sydechan, so he didn't detect that I was in front and the ghost kept running at full speed, killing me in just a matter of seconds :(

I have to admit that the realm of the dead also looks great.

20230129015608_1.jpg

I don't know what they did with the lighting in this game, but it's also extremely polished. It's quite funny because the book shouldn't be there, but since I needed a more relevant item for the situation I decided to drop it and that's how it turned out: A book placed in front of a spotlight to recreate a scenario of culture people where we encourage reading and also photography.

Nah, I don't know what I'm talking about, but I quite liked that screenshot :P

20230129021001_1.jpg

In the end I ended up playing several games together with @sydechan and we proved that we are old enough to hunt ghosts. I regained my desire to try games other than Albion because I had a lot of fun playing Phasmo, and I hope we can play it more often.

Thank you very much for reading all this.
