¡Hola a todos!

Se supone que traería este post hace un par de días pero lastimosamente el disco duro de mi PC murió, así que fue un pequeño martirio tener que trabajar con ella mientras un montón de sectores estaban dañados: Básicamente siempre se congelaba, algunos juegos no querían abrir y la PC no me permitía acceder a ciertas carpetas. Me temo que ese disco duro ya pasó a una mejor vida, pero no todo son malas noticias.

Apenas supe que mi disco duro se iba a dañar decidí comprar otro lo más rápido posible para no dejar de perder mi actividad aquí (y rescatar algunas cosas antes de que el anterior HDD muriera completamente). Jamás había tenido un disco de 1 TB y se siente como si pudieras descargar todos los juegos del mundo, pero ya tengo consumidos unos 400 GB haha, así que intentaré elegir sabiamente qué tener instalado en mi PC a partir de este momento.

Pero lo importante de este post no es mi nuevo HDD, por otro lado completamente diferente: Esta es mi primera experiencia jugando World of Warcraft.

No estoy siendo exagerado al decir que es mi primera experiencia, de verdad lo es. World of Warcraft es un juego que a pesar de tener casi 2 décadas desde que salió a la luz por primera vez, jamás tuve la oportunidad de jugarlo como es debido. No fueron falta de ganas, en realidad, una vez lo descargué pero para ese momento mi conexión a internet, mi PC, y mi edad (ni siquiera sé cómo podía usar una PC para ese momento) me impedían jugarlo como era debido.

Pero hasta hace unos 2-3 días se dio el momento.

He visto a varios amigos de HiveGC jugando este juego por horas y siempre me preguntaba el por qué no había día donde @perceval y @oldfool no tuvieran jugando más de 6 horas. Los RPG siempre me han gustado y he probado unos cuantos (Metin2, Mu, Albion), y un día @oldfool llegó al servidor de HiveGC a decirnos a @rishahp y a mí: "¿Y si juegan WoW?"

No se diga más.

Fue así como nos adentramos en este mundo. Yo soy el nuevo en todo el sentido de la palabra, no sé cómo funciona todo, no sé a dónde ir, nada. Tuve la fortuna de que @rishahp es un jugador experimentado de WoW y él y yo nos unimos a La Alianza como elfos de la noche.

Oh, olvidé mencionar por qué elegí ser un elfo de la noche.

Mientras seleccionaba mi personaje decidí revisar TODAS y CADA UNA de las razas y clases que habían disponibles. En este proceso estaban acompañándome @rishahp y @oldfool explicándome qué era lo que hacía cada raza y cada clase, y cuáles eran más convenientes para los distintos escenarios que habrían en el juego.

La clase pícaro me recordó mucho a los ninjas del metin2 porque hacen bastante daño con habilidades a melee y dependen bastante de los golpes críticos. También me dijeron que son realmente buenos para el PVP así que: ¿Qué mejor clase que esta para destrozar a @oldfool y a @perceval?

Porque lo peor del caso es que al parecer hay 2 reinos: La Alianza y La Horda. Estos 2 reinos son completamente diferentes y las razas se dividen dependiendo de qué reino elijas: Y el PVP siempre estará activo si te encuentras a alguien de otro reino.

@perceval y @oldfool son de La Horda, así que, queda en mí poder enseñarles lo que es un buen personaje para PVP.

Pero todavía me falta mucho para eso.

Mis primera impresión es que el juego no se ve tan mal como pensé. Quiero decir, obviamente se nota que es de hace bastantes generaciones, pero esperaba algo más cutre (palabras de alguien que jugó OSRS en 2020). Me sentía cómodo pero algo que me abrumó un poco es la gran cantidad de cosas que hay en pantalla.

Otra cosa que me molestó al principio es lo lento que se siente el movimiento del personaje. Supongo que es la costumbre de los juegos actuales donde el "sprint" es algo indispensable en muchísimos juegos incluso desde el comienzo, así que es cosa de costumbre (mientras más avanzaba en el juego iba notando que me iba a poder mover más rápido).

Como todo MMORPG, el comienzo son simplemente hacer quests (y supongo que se mantendrá así por bastante tiempo), así que @rishahp y yo invertimos todo nuestro tiempo haciendo quests por aquí y por allá.

Me gustó muchísimo el sistema de viajes rápidos. Pensé que simplemente sería una teletransportación de un lugar a otro o una pequeña pantalla de carga, pero fue algo totalmente diferente. Para viajar entre ciudades que están relativamente cerca puedes ir en Grifos y ver el paisaje en todo el recorrido. En algunas ocasiones puede ser algo bastante lento en comparación a una teletransportación instantánea pero al menos como primera experiencia me gustó bastante ir viendo una MUY pequeña parte del mundo de WoW.

Esto es algo que mencioné en mi post acerca de Project Zomboid, amo completamente los juegos con mapas grandes. Cuando vi el mapa de WoW fue una absoluta locura ya que dentro de cada pedazo de tierra que se ve en el mapa hay un montón de zonas distintas. Este mapa completo se puede ver al viajar en barco desde Kalimdor hasta los Reinos del Este, y es así como te das cuenta de que hay un millón de zonas distintas que explorar en este juego si deseas avanzar.

Las zonas están divididas en rangos de niveles: Ciertas zonas están diseñadas para jugadores dentro de dicho rango, por lo que mientras más subimos de nivel, vamos yendo hacia otras zonas para así subir de nivel de forma más óptima.

Hasta ahora he visto lugares bastante únicos, pero estoy seguro de que me queda un millón de cosas más por explorar.

Todos estos screenshots son de los distintos lugares a los que he ido (probablemente se me escapen algunos).

En todos esos screenshots se puede ver cómo mi personaje ha estado subiendo de nivel lentamente y cómo mi interfaz ha cambiado un poco: Y esto es algo que también me abrumó. Al parecer terminará siendo necesario tener todas las casillas de acceso rápido (bueno, al menos la mayoría) para castear habilidades o si necesito invocar alguna montura rápidamente. No sé si tengo que configurar alguna hotkey para que sea más rápido que solamente dar click, pero supongo que es cosa de costumbre y también iré aprendiendo más al respecto en el futuro cercano.

Algo que también aprendí rápidamente es que tu cuerpo vale.

Y que algunos jugadores de WoW son bastante simps.

Aproveché que mi personaje es hembra y que hace unos movimientos sensuales al utilizar /dance, por lo que hice lo que mis amigos me recomendaron: Ir al centro de Ventormenta y comenzar a bailar con lo mínimo de ropa que tenía para así ganar oro fácil.

Me sorprendí porque efectivamente así fue, hice más de 100 de oro simplemente bailando y diciendo que me regalen oro, lol. Supongo que 100 de oro al largo plazo termina siendo nada para los jugadores de máximo nivel, pero hey, eso me sirve excesivamente a mí para así comprar las monturas y también para comprar las monturas al 100% de velocidad cuando llegue a nivel 40.

Este es mi pequeña montura. Tuve que tomar un nuevo screenshot porque al parecer perdí varios screenshots que tenía guardados anteriormente (juraba que todos estaban en el SSD, pero al parecer no fue así XD). Cuando comience a jugar de nuevo les mostraré la nueva zona en la que estamos, y muy probablemente les muestre mucho más progreso.

World of Warcraft me ha estado llamando la atención y no me he aburrido en el poco tiempo que he jugado. No puedo decir si es un buen juego aún porque me falta muchísimo más contenido por explorar, pero estoy bastante emocionado por ver qué me depara en esta pequeña aventura.

Hi everyone!

I was supposed to bring this post a couple of days ago but unfortunately the hard drive of my PC died, so it was a little martyrdom having to work with it while a lot of sectors were damaged: Basically it always froze, some games didn't want to open and the PC wouldn't allow me to access certain folders. I'm afraid that hard drive has already passed to a better life, but it's not all bad news.

As soon as I knew that my hard drive was going to be damaged I decided to buy another one as soon as possible so I wouldn't lose my activity here (and rescue some things before the previous HDD died completely). I've never had a 1TB disk before and it feels like you can download all the games in the world, but I've already consumed about 400GB haha, so I'll try to choose wisely what to have installed on my PC from now on.

But the important thing about this post is not my new HDD, otherwise completely different: This is my first experience playing World of Warcraft.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it's my first experience, it really is. World of Warcraft is a game that despite having almost 2 decades since it was first released, I never had the chance to play it properly. It wasn't for lack of desire, actually, I once downloaded it but by that time my internet connection, my PC, and my age (I don't even know how I could use a PC at that time) prevented me from playing it properly.

But until about 2-3 days ago the moment came.

I've seen several HiveGC friends playing this game for hours and I always wondered why there wasn't a day where @perceval and @oldfool didn't play for more than 6 hours. RPGs have always appealed to me and I've tried a few (Metin2, Mu, Albion), and one day @oldfool came to the HiveGC server to say to @rishahp and I, "How about playing WoW?"

Say no more.

That's how we got into this world. I'm the new guy in every sense of the word, I don't know how everything works, I don't know where to go, nothing. I was fortunate that @rishahp is an experienced WoW player and he and I joined The Alliance as night elves.

Oh, I forgot to mention why I chose to be a night elf.

While selecting my character I decided to review EVERY single race and class that was available. In this process I was accompanied by @rishahp and @oldfool explaining to me what each race and class did, and which ones were more suitable for the different scenarios that would be in the game.

The rogue class reminded me a lot of metin2 ninjas because they do quite a bit of damage with melee skills and rely quite a bit on critical hits. I was also told that they are really good for PVP so: what better class than this to destroy @oldfool and @perceval?

Because the worst part of the case is that apparently there are 2 kingdoms: The Alliance and The Horde. These 2 realms are completely different and the races are divided depending on which realm you choose: And the PVP will always be active if you meet someone from another realm.

@perceval and @oldfool are from The Horde, so, it's up to me to teach them what is a good character for PVP.

But I still have a long way to go.

My first impression is that the game doesn't look as bad as I thought. I mean, obviously you can tell it's from quite a few generations ago, but I was expecting something crappier (words from someone who played OSRS in 2020). I felt comfortable but one thing that overwhelmed me a bit is the sheer amount of stuff on screen.

Another thing that bothered me at first is how slow the character movement feels. I guess it's the habit of current games where the "sprint" is something indispensable in many games even from the beginning, so it's a habit thing (the more I advanced in the game I noticed that I was going to be able to move faster).

As every MMORPG, the beginning is just doing quests (and I guess it will stay like that for a long time), so @rishahp and I invested all our time doing quests here and there.

I really liked the fast travel system. I thought it would simply be a teleportation from one place to another or a small loading screen, but it was something totally different. To travel between cities that are relatively close you can ride Griffins and see the scenery all the way around. At times it can be quite slow compared to instant teleportation but at least as a first experience I quite enjoyed seeing a VERY small part of the WoW world.

This is something I mentioned in my post about Project Zomboid, I absolutely love games with large maps. When I saw the WoW map it was absolutely insane as within each piece of land you see on the map there are a lot of different zones. This full map can be seen when traveling by ship from Kalimdor to the Eastern Kingdoms, and that's how you realize that there are a million different zones to explore in this game if you want to advance.

The zones are divided into level ranges: certain zones are designed for players within that range, so the more you level up, the more you go to other zones in order to level up more optimally.

So far I've seen some pretty unique places, but I'm sure I have a million more to explore.

In all those screenshots you can see how my character has been slowly leveling up and how my interface has changed a bit: And this is something that also overwhelmed me. Apparently it will end up being necessary to have all the hotspots (well, at least most of them) to cast skills or if I need to summon any mounts quickly. I don't know if I need to set up any hotkeys to make it faster than just clicking, but I guess it's a habit thing and I'll also learn more about it in the near future.

Something I also quickly learned is that your body is worth.

And that some WoW players are pretty simps.

I took advantage of the fact that my character is female and that she makes some sensual movements when using /dancing, so I did what my friends recommended me: Go to the center of Ventormenta and start dancing with the minimum of clothes I had in order to earn easy gold.

I was surprised because indeed I did, I made over 100 gold just by dancing and telling them to give me gold, lol. I guess 100 gold in the long run ends up being nothing for max level players, but hey, that's excessively useful for me to buy mounts and also to buy mounts at 100% speed when I reach level 40.

This is my little mount. I had to take a new screenshot because apparently I lost several screenshots I had previously saved (I swore they were all on the SSD, but apparently they weren't XD). When I start playing again I'll show you the new zone we're in, and most likely show you a lot more progress.

World of Warcraft has been holding my attention and I have not been bored in the short time I have played. I can't say if it's a good game yet because I have a ton more content left to explore, but I'm pretty excited to see what this little adventure has in store for me.
