The Adventures of Freddy The Flea Pt 3

Previously on Freddy The Flea:

Freddy The Flea ended up in a strange new world, covered in rocks, dust and ‘green canes.’ Freddy met an interesting Flea, named Fria, whom he eventually deemed a little crazy, however he decided to go along with Fria since this Flea had some food which he’ll need to survive.

Part 3

We’ve been walking about The Abyss for what felt like an eternity. Fria said it’s not The Abyss, as is commonly known, but rather, soil and the tall canes are grass. Apparently, it was commonly referred to as a lawn. ‘Whatever’ I thought. I was just so tired and hungry; I couldn’t care anymore.

“Did you know that we’re classified as parasites?” Fria asked.

“No” I bluntly responded, letting off a deep sigh.

“Well, what you believe to be honey you’re sucking from Hair & Honey, is actually blood.”

“Sure” I replied, but my thoughts went more towards ‘Next she’s going to tell me that we’re actually like little mini vampires at the bottom of the food chain.’

“How much further do we need to go?”

“I don’t know. It depends on when we can find a suitable host.”

‘Host, bloodsuckers, grass!’ By now my blood was boiling. I was hungry, tired and I just couldn’t listen to this nonsense anymore.

“Aarrgghhh, what’s wrong with you? What world do you live in? Half of what you’re saying doesn’t make any sense. You talk about hosts, parasites, and infinite galaxies. I just don’t understand you.”

Fria stopped dead in her tracks. She slowly turned around and I could see she was fuming.

“I, I –“ Fria interjected before I could apologize.

“You, Freddy Flea, have no idea. You’ve been sitting there at the rear, blissfully unaware of anything other than filling your belly, laying about, and occasionally learning from, well, which is mostly outdated scriptures!” Fria was shouting at the top of her lungs now. “You have not the faintest idea of reality as you sit all cozy and warm while only a handful of us, actually gather some real information. Do you think what happened on Hair & Honey was –“ Fria stopped as she saw my eyes looking over and above her, suddenly not paying her any heed. I was completely distracted by this massive structure towering up behind her. The green canes, or grass, had been completely flattened behind Fria. When Fria turned around, she saw what had caused me to freeze in disbelief.

The large, towering structure was covered in grey canes, or, as Fria would call it, hair. I could see two huge, white, bonelike structures protruding from the front. Above it, there was a pink, rounded structure, with two dark holes. I could hear air flowing in and out of it, as it wiggled around from side to side.

“Freddy. Freddy!” she shouted. “This is it. This is our chance to get out of here.”

I was still staring up, mouth ajar. Fria could see I was in shock, so she decided to give me a slap across the cheek.

‘Smack!’ but nothing happened.

“Come Freddy. We must go right now! This mouse isn’t going to stay here forever.” Fria pulled my arm and tugged me towards the so-called mouse.

‘This is insane’ I thought, as I stumbled along with Fria towards the mouse.

“When I say jump, you jump, okay?”

“Freddy! You have to listen to me” Fria said, as we edged ever closer to the mouse.

Fria was concerned, as I still seemed to be quite out of sorts. That was when she came up with a plan. A brilliant, but cruel plan.
