Not Your Mother's Daily Quest
I must say, the change in the daily reward system in Splinterlands is definitely different after the "upgrade" that was introduced late mast month and instituted a few days ago. It took me a couple of hours of searching, reading, and testing before I got at least a decent understanding of how things work. Here is my first rewards haul after trying out the new system:
Change For Good
This is quite a change from the one daily chest I would have received from the Bronze I league I generally participate in. Since I do not have a significant collection, I had no way of increasing that to SEVEN daily chests without a healthy investment in the rental market and hours of playing to progress to the Gold II league (especially when I have never been past Silver I). And this doesn't even begin to address the season rewards I have earned (24 in the past three days instead of working the entire season for 9 chests) .
I must admit, it took me longer to reach seven chests in one day than it previously took me to complete my Daily Quest (to get one chest), but I must also admit it is quite addicting to continue to see the progress bar growing and the chest count rising.
The jury is still out. When I first started playing under the new system, the rewards were tiny and it seemed to take FOREVER to earn one chest. But as I have researched how everything works and played more games, I began accumulating Focus Points at a much higher rate and earning chests much faster. As I learn more and play more, I am liking the new system more and more.
