Tea Room - Leça da Palmeira Portugal
Leça da Palmeira is a small village located in the north of Portugal, in the region of Matosinhos. Famous for its beaches and its rich historical and cultural heritage, Leça da Palmeira is a popular tourist destination among visitors looking for a peaceful and pleasant place to spend their holidays. or even visit quickly as it is close to Porto airport
One of the most famous sights in Leça da Palmeira is the Boa Nova Tea Room, designed by renowned Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. Located on a cliff overlooking the sea, the Tea Room is a masterpiece of modern architecture and is a perfect example of the minimalist and elegant aesthetic that characterizes the work of Siza Vieira.
Having already won several construction awards
As I walked through the Tea Room, I was able to see the magnitude of the construction and how it seamlessly blends into the surrounding natural landscape. The whitewashed stone and glass walls of the Tea Room merge with the coastal rock, creating a striking and harmonious appearance. The feeling is that the construction was shaped by nature itself.
As I approached the Tea Room, I noticed the care taken with the details of Siza Vieira's project. The stone walls have been precisely carved, while the glass windows and doors are strategically placed to allow natural light into the building and provide stunning views of the sea lapping against the rocks. As I couldn't remain indifferent I really had to share with you, for me the most beautiful and functional work of the place, whether in summer or winter the views of the sea in the coat of arms of the building are a good place to drink something hot and something cold
Walking through the Tea Room, I was able to appreciate the minimalist elegance of the interior space. The wooden furniture, stone walls and subtle yet refined finishing details give the space a sense of tranquility and sophistication. The windows of the Tea Room offer a panoramic view of the sea, creating a calm and relaxing environment for visitors.
I didn't go in because I was just passing through and the price of the place doesn't fit in my pocket ahahah 😀
One of the most interesting points of the Boa Nova Tea Room is its restaurant, managed by the renowned Portuguese chef Rui Paula (2 Michelin stars). The kitchen is famous for its seafood cuisine and fresh local ingredients, which makes the Tea Room a must-see destination for foodies. In addition, the restaurant has one of the most breathtaking views of the Portuguese coast, which makes dining there even more special.
