Cody Rhodes’ journey has been a fascinating one in WWE over the years. Recently, he has been talking about his WrestleMania 40 achievements and went as far as teasing that there could be a showdown between him and The Rock!
Headlining three WrestleManias in a row would be huge.
But Cody’s journey toward this goal begins with a solid title reign. And do you know what?
On SmackDown, they had this mini-tournament to find his first challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship. It was intense! LA Knight and AJ Styles emerged as the finalists after winning their triple threat matches.
They had a match, and Styles sneaked out with an eye poke move to win the match! He capped it all off with his signature Phenomenal Forearm finisher.
Sneaky huh?
While some people might have expected a different outcome, Styles as the first contender spices things up a little bit. I mean, he is an experienced heel who knows to entertain audience.
Well, whether it will be any good or not is something we will just have to wait and see now won’t we?
However with Cody’s resolve and Style’s wilyness, I think it would be one hell of a showdown. I can’t wait for all this to unfold on the way to backlash in France.
