Xavier's Tough Choice in the Ring

Hey there lovely people of the Hive Universe! It's your wrestling boy P, always happy to bring you content and updates on everything WWE, WOOGame, and Wrestling Worldwide

Did you watch Raw last night? What did you think of the Xavier vs GUNTHER match?

It got intense really fast. Xavier was getting destroyed, especially his knee. GUNTHER, that big dude, had him all over the place – he even bent his knee around the ropes. It was brutal, I felt so bad for him… He’s always been the underdog.

Then it got weird. GUNTHER put Xavier in this wacky leg hold right in the middle of the ring. He couldn’t move, there was no way out.

So Kofi, Xavier’s friend, grabbed a towel and jumped on the apron. You could tell he wanted to throw it in – end his suffering right there – but Xavier wouldn’t let him. He just kept screaming “Let me do it!” over and over.

I was conflicted. Part of me really wanted Kofi to throw that towel in; Xavier was hurting so bad, I couldn’t stand to see it.

But at the same time, I got where he was coming from… He had too much pride to quit like that.”

Then all of a sudden, Xavier switched his position. He went from pleading with Kofi not to throw in the towel to saying “Nah.” It was as if he couldn’t decide and it left me confused.

At the end, GUNTHER won by making Xavier tap out. This got me thinking about what might have happened differently. Maybe if Kofi had thrown in the towel, Xavier could’ve had an escape; saved himself from more pain. Or maybe if Xavier had just passed out due to the pain then he would have looked tough; showed his strength even in defeat.

But instead we got this strange finish that didn't really make sense. It felt like Xavier's character was all over the place and left me scratching my head.

In general, I think the match could have been handled better. Wrestlers can show vulnerability sometimes, they can need help from their friends. And it’s okay for them to want to keep fighting; show their strength and determination.

But this finish just felt off; like it didn’t do justice to Xavier’s character or tell a story of the match.
