My Entry For W29E3 Contest - The Danger Of Spreading Fake News On Social Media
In this post, I'm back in participating in the Contest Week 29 Edition 3, which was held by the Hive Learners Community.
As technology develops, nowadays people use social media for various purposes in their lives. However, did you know that currently there is so much news spreading on social media that it makes it very difficult for us to know whether a news is valid or just fake news.
Usually the Fake News is widely spread in WhatsApp Groups, whether it's Family WhatsApp Groups or other WhatsApp Groups. And I'm sure that we all must have been consumed by a fake news spread around us because fake news nowadays is very easy to spread everywhere.
And I myself was stuck with fake news that was shared on the WhatsApp group a few years ago, and the fake news at that time was with the mode of having a free internet quota gift on behalf of one of the cellular network providers in our country and ordered us to click on their link it in the news.
Even though the link was just a phishing link that was deliberately spread so that the fake news spreaders could access our smartphones after we clicked on the phishing link they spread at that time and luckily i quickly realized and immediately changed all important passwords and pins on my smartphone at that time.
The fake news that was spread on the WhatsApp group at that time almost endangered me because the phishing link they spread at that time I clicked and luckily I quickly realized that it was just fake news with Free Internet Quota Prize lure and on behalf of one of the cellular network providers in Our Country Indonesia.
Fortunately, all of my data was safe and had not been compromised by the fake news spreaders, and at that time I quickly realized that it was just fake news with the lure of Internet quota prizes by inserting a phishing link in the fake news they spread.
Therefore, be careful with fake news which is now getting easier to spread, especially through the WhatsApp group, because usually people who spread the news don't know that the news they spread is just fake news and maybe because they are eaten by the lure of the gifts they have write down in the Fake news.
Actually, fake news is not only easy to spread on the WhatsApp group, but on other social media that we often use today, such as Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok, there are a lot of fake news that happen every day without us realizing it.
So I suggest to all of you to be more careful with fake news that is spread around us, and don't let us become victims of fake news because I am was almost hit by phishing because I carelessly believed fake news spread on social media.
And other fake news that we often find on social media today is a news from an artist where the news is not true and only made up by certain people to bring down the career of an artist with the fake news they spread.

Fake news on social media is very dangerous because a lot of people just look at me without checking first. So we also have to be careful in using social media, hopefully in the future we can know what is right and what is wrong.

As the internet increasingly becomes a part of our daily lives, we are also exposed to a greater amount of fake news. This is dangerous because fake news is often designed to mislead and manipulate people. It can make people believe things that are not true and that can have serious real-world consequences.
