Entrecote with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes

Entrecote

Last week I was aiming on buying another batch of steak but for some reason the part I wanted to order was constantly unavailable and I really had to refill our fridge and freezer at some point. Therefore I decided to order a 600 grams piece of entrecote and see if we like that. I didn't want to order more than one as somewhere in my memory I had the note that I didn't like it as much as other parts.

Oven grilled vegetables

I ordered a lot of vegetables and as they tend to do often, I even received a few kgs more than ordered simply because they like to play that trick on online orders. I guess I just have to up our veggie intake, lol. I really don't like too many vegetables but I also learned that I think I don't like some simply because I only know them served cooked instead of grilled. Or in some cases, my mother just didn't know how to trick me into eating them because of her recipes that weren't my cup of tea.

One of the vegetables I really never bought in my life is zuchini. Like never ever, lol. She served it to me several times as a child and I remember it was disgusting. Same goes for eggplants btw. The latter I have tasted once after my childhood, it was actually in Spain when our host fried them with eggs, which was ok. Anyway, I decided to be bold (haha) and order zuchini for Christmas to try and grill it on the table grill. I must say it was not a huge success, BUT I grilled the remaining part in the oven which turned out better. I tried slicing it thick as well as thin, I'm still searching for the perfect size when I grill zuchini only.

Vegetable mix

For the entrecote dinner last week, I decided to use a mix of vegetable for dinner: paprika, zucchini, sweet potatoe and sweet onions topped with some olive oil and a few herbs on top. I put it in the oven until I found them good looking enough. Added some mashed potatoes and together it was a lovely dinner. I don't dislike the entrecote, but to me there are better parts to eat. I bet if we grill it the way @papacrusher does, I'd love it more but we have to work with the kitchen we have for now. :)

Today I will prep another round of grilled veggies with the leftover chicken from yesterday and quinoa. Already looking forward to it!

I keep wanting to make steak looking like that but even when I follow step-by-step they don't look as appetizing as that.

Its not my cup of tea to prep them either, I don't even touch the steaks anymore. Always leaving it to my boyfriend, I'm afraid I will ruin it :)
