Ice cream is a true favourite in our household

I think most people enjoy ice cream, but if you'd met my boyfriend and our daughter, you'd meet true ice cream lovers. It doesn't matter if it's 35 degrees outside and real ice cream weather, or that it's freezing 10 degrees. I can wake them up for ice cream so to speak. Personally, I like ice cream, but I skip quite a few rounds when they have one, I only have one when I crave ice cream.

Real whipped cream

I don't know about you, but until we discovered this whipped cream just before the holidays, we always bought these small whipped cream bottles in the supermarket. Most of them are not even worthy to be called whipped cream, but this is another thing that you can wake both my daughter and boyfriend up for. I remember these big packages from Holland where you could only buy them as wholesalers in the food service industry. They are expensive, but the packages are also much bigger and at least it tastes like actual whipped cream. This will be used for this delicious dessert I made today.

The Ingredients

Here's a list of the ingredients I've used for this dessert:

• Pistachio ice cream
• Avocado
• Whipped cream
• Chocolate dessert sauce
• Chocolate dessert waffles
• Crunched pistachio topping

The Process

This one is super simple! I start with some avocado slices on the bottom of the glass, adding just a tiny bit of chocolate dessert sauce before I add the next layer.
The next layer is the pistachio ice cream which is topped off with whipped cream.
Add some real pistachios on top of the whipped cream and of course, some more chocolate dessert sauce.

Tip: if you don't want your whipped cream to collapse a bit like happened here, you probably want to make the pistachio parts just a bit smaller, so they are less heavy. That way you end up with the perfect dessert!

The End Result

One last thing to do, add the choco waffles and then it's time to have some sweet dessert:

Unfortunately, the whipped cream wasn't as firm as I wanted anymore by the time I decided to add the pink background. Next time: be quicker! But that doesn't mean it didn't taste well, on the contrary, it was delicious!
