Silver Gold Stackers Engagement Initiative - 5 HSBI For Grabs!

Silver gold stackers engagement initiative.png

Long overdue

As I planned on creating this post weekly, I'm quite overdue with the second question. I blame the holiday craziness as well as some other priorities. But I surely didn't forget about stacking or the cool people in the community, so today I'm back publishing the second question.

This week's question

Let's get straight to the point and check the question I picked for this week:

Silver gold stackers engagement initiative (1).png

As a newbie silver stacker, I still have a lot to learn but that's fine. I will probably be fooled or fall for some sort of FOMO thinking I have discovered a gem that slipped through and turns out to be not worthy after all. The journey is also important, I enjoy learning about new things if they interest me, this is the case with stacking.

I don't have any really desired coins yet because I read about them or know these are super rare for example. I created the 12 days of Christmas list for 9 or 10 days which added a few coins to my list that I will most certainly buy. The others were just those that you dream about and not within my budget anytime soon. Or just too much of a premium price that I'm willing to pay anyway.

Everyone has their own way of selecting which coins they want to buy, the max price they are willing to pay for it etc. Which made me very curious about the silver or gold piece that you are most proud of, and why? Is it because the piece comes from a very small and exclusive mint or maybe because you know people are just not selling them once they bought one? There are probably tons of other reasons, such as emotional value, I'm curious and hope you are willing to share some of the stories with me.

5 HSBI shares giveaway

Your engagement will be rewarded with gratitude and maybe some tips I throw around here and there. As I recently received a 2500 LEO delegation for a month from @beststart, my LEO vote is worth something as well, bonus for you guys! On top of that, I also leased HP to make the Hive vote worth a bit more. But that's not all!

As last time, I will give away 5 HSBI shares total to 5 people I pick from the comment section. Each person that I pick will receive 1 share. I will announce the winners somewhere in the next days after this post pays out and send the HSBI shares right after.

Deadline to be eligible for the HSBI shares is when the post reaches the pay out window.

Thank you for joining :)

Thanks for your comment :)

As it says 2018 Steem coin, I assume that's because this marks an important part of your journey on Hive (steemit back then :P) funny as I just finished watching the #Freechain documentary an hour ago and it brought back quite a few memories for me personally too.

I was part of Steemit but with my old account, I always admired all the silver coins on my feed and hoped one day I could afford one myself. Life was hard financially at the time though so all my finds were needed in real life, sadly. Steemit in a way contributed to a huge shift in my life from being broke as f.. to building back something of a life.

Of course my journey is not yours so it's a wild guess that this marks some part of your journey. Maybe you were the one who designed it? Minted it? I don't know.. enlighten me please :)

I will come back to tip the comments tomorrow as I have no tips left today...

I was fortunate enough to be the person that designed this coin, and inevitably won the contest for our community to have these minted. It was a community project, that I, am, and forever will be proud to be a part of .

Wow, that's indeed one heck of a memory to cherish. Totally understandable that this is your favourite.. My very first silver coin also had the tree of life on it, it was bought while I still lived in Budapest so I totally appreciate your design!

I'm curious, could it be that there is one for sale somewhere? Maybe you have some spares? #DareToAsk

I dont have any for sale. Im highly unlikely to ever part with any that i own. Im hoping to pass them down to family members as and when...

There are 3 coins made by the community 2017, 18 and 19. ask in the group doscord as there is always someone looking to liquidate some silver. You may get lucky and find somene willing to sell you all 3 coins at once

I totally understand! I will ask it there in the next months as I didn't want to buy any right away but was curious if it was optional :) thanks for the tip! !PIMP

Howdy, @thisismylife

Great question. I did not have to think very long as to my favorite silver piece, it is without a doubt the silver Hive ingot that was designed by @silversaver888.

It was a limited edition and numbered.

I'm rather a beginning stacker, but this is my first silver coin I ever got. It used to be of my grandfather and I received it upon his death. It represents the first 4 kings of Belgium but for me it's merely about the memories. :)

Oh honestly, that's one that will probably be one of the special ones because it came from your grandfather. Definitely hold on to it for the sake of the memories.. Thank you for sharing that! !PIZZA

I've alluded to this coin in my 12 Days of Christmas blogs.
It was meant to be my Finale coin of the 2023 12 Days of Christmas Wish List coin fulfilled! A 1765 Mexico Colonial Carlos III 8 Reales 'Pillar Dollar' with Asian Chop marks was to be my crown jewel dream coin purchased from the net proceeds of my late Roommate's estate as her departing gift to cheer me up after she was gone.
The very coin that became an emblematic world reserve currency, model for the US Dollar, and given literary status in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island as 'Pieces of Eight'
Such a special coin does not come cheap.
Though it had TRACKING, it was gone.
After 40 days!
The Shipping company was not able to locate the package.
A little more than 24 hours ago, the shipping company deemed it lost.
I'm now feeling rather depressed. 😥
My blog series is incomplete.

Oh no!!!! I was going to call it a day until I read this sad news about your coin being lost. I had to come here to say I'm so sorry for that dear :( Will you at least get it refunded?

I don't even know what to say that exactly this one got lost while it's a gift from your friend who passed away. That makes it even harder to deal with... Pff I really don't know what to say but !LUV for you !LADY

Big hug, I hope that somehow that coin ends up in your collection in some sort of magical way..

The show must go on.
The Seller is offering me a credit and will look for a similar replacement.
After 40 days there is a possibility it could still show up.

Next feature; Day 10; Wish list fulfilled, Colonial Mexico Philip IV 8 Reales Cob.

Now that I went through these comments because of writing the follow up post, I didn't see this comment before.

Did you get the credit? I think it showed up before that time?

I'm very happy for you that it showed up after all..

You deserve it!

I'm still not fully back to catching up on everything but I'm getting closer, so you will see me appear more from tomorrow..

I had a mould issue to deal with today so I'm going to catch up on reading and engaging tomorrow. Had my hands full today lol.

Just didn't want to skip this one as I'm too happy it's resolved <3

I think the biggest criteria is if it is appealing. Second is price, third is rarity, and fourth would be sentimental value.

I have four favorite pieces, for different reasons. I have a 10oz "Sparkle bar" that has crystals and sparkles in the bar itself. It's one-of-a-kind and I'll never sell it.

I have a 2022 5oz Reverse Proof Libertad that is expensive, low mintage, and has silver boobs. 😆

I have a graded end-of-roll Morgan that is amazingly toned. It is shades of blue, green, red, purple and orange, and is amazing to look at.

Lastly, I have a custom-poured silver reproduction of the old Blue-Eyes White Dragon Yu-Gi-Oh card from the Kaiba starter deck I played with as a teen.

They're all favorites for different reasons, and I doubt I'd sell any of them except maybe the Reverse Proof Libertad, and that's if I got a good price for it.

I hope that's not as clear as mud. 😆

Hello @bulliontools,

Thank you for your in-depth comment. I read it the day after you wrote it, but I wasn't logged in and thought I responded but I apparently didn't. My apologies as I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!

That's a good order I think, even though I can imagine that it's not always applicable and there are exceptions to the rules?

Haha, silver boobs, woohoo!

It was clear as mud, I just forgot to answer. I had a few chaotic days last week which made me fall behind on engagement, I'm just crawling back up since my brain fog seems to be gone lol.

Let's see if I can still tip this one..

No problem! The rules aren't set in stone. If a good opportunity came along, I could be persuaded to sell some, but those pieces are at the very bottom of the list to sell.

I'm sorry you had some chaotic days, but I'm glad to hear things are better! 🙂
