Day 1 - Homemade Pizza

30 pictures - 30 stories divider set - Introduction.png

After successfully completing "30 Pictures - 30 Stories" last month, I noticed that I really enjoyed creating and publishing daily content on Hive, therefore I decided to continue the challenge. This time I will follow a slightly different format so that I can also include a regular blog, instead of only focusing on a picture with a story.

Not only will I aim for a few more weekly author badges, but also hope to earn the monthly author badge this month. Feel free to join the challenge at any time if you feel inspired to create daily content. To me it has been a game changers in getting more organized about my own content and pushing myself to show up every day.

Publish one post a day during 30 days. Simple right? It may sound simple but often life gets in the way, we all know this. Although I have plenty of drafts and pictures to publish, sometimes I just don't feel the right flow.

Starting this challenge last month has made me push myself to keep going and even though I skipped a few days, I published content almost every day of the month. Once I started to create my content in batches of 5 days I have been able to publish daily, so that's my tip for you in case you're joining, create content ahead so it's ready to publish and repeat once you're out of content.

So here we are with another attempt to publish content daily. I have been feeling great every time I had another batch of content ready for some days so that I did not have to focus on my personal blog every day. Not only did I manage to get this awesome flow for my account, but also for work it has been a game changer.

Today I want to share our fun mother daughter moment we had yesterday. For a few weeks, I had pizza bottoms in the freezer with the intention to create homemade pizzas together. It's not the most easy task to motivate my daughter for this because she simply refuses to eat any pizza nowadays. I do like a pizza every now and then, but eating it alone is no fun as my boyfriend will regret eating it every time so he stopped doing that.

I figured I could motivate her to create one herself where she'd not refuse to eat it and with some luck add in some spinach so she has some greens that day too. You probably saw the picture above, so please don't laugh at my failed spinach on pizza attempt, lol. Ok, you're allowed to laugh it was funny after all.

I was right about her being excited when prepping the pizza all by herself (well almost) and yesterday was the day she became a pizza baker. We discussed that I'd bake some chicken with our favorite Dutch shawarma herbs and we'd add tomato sauce, cheese (not too much!!!!) chicken and spinach. Topped off with some oregano, of course.

The only thing is that I did not take into account (I admit that none of our homemade pizzas contained spinach until yesterday) that the spinach would just burn the way I topped it on the pizza. Oops. Daughter didn't mind, she was happy to take them off thanks to my silly mistake. You're welcome, dear!

The verdict? It was very tasteful for a simple pizza, I think the herbs on the chicken also had a part in that and she ate the full pizza. That little girl who always refuses to eat pizza was now eating her whole self-made pizza with pride. This momma thinks that she will be assisting me in the kitchen cutting vegetables soon, who knows I can trick her into tasting some of these delicious veggies that way too!

Do you ever make homemade pizza? Maybe even with a fresh bottom? We cheated a little with this one but nevertheless, it was great!

That looks delicious, plus what a great activity to do with kids 🙂👍

I used to often make homemade pizza, but i found giving up bread seemed to improve stone if my bread illness symptoms... but i still eat wraps & flat bread.

I figured out i might have issues with anything with yeast in, meaning pizza is an occasional treat 😣🍕🤣

I think it would be best if we both don't eat much bread either, which we cut down hard on lately anyway. I really love a good soft bun (order them somewhere so that I have the real Dutch ones lol) but I also notice that my body doesn't like bread that much..

Yeast is probably the issue as you mentioned :)

The pizza I made caused me to have rumbling belly all evening so there you go lol..

But we don't eat it often. I will probably make another round with her in the weekend as I don't want to throw out the tomato sauce and then we just put them in the freezer.. I'm not craving pizzas weekly, it's very rare :)

I actually start to enjoy a lot of veggies more and more lately, and experimenting a bit with the combinations as well. Oh and a nice homemade soup is a favorite too here lately!

Thanks for stopping by! <3
