The 30 Days 30 Stories Challenge - Day 10 - A Spanish Breakfast
Day 10 - A Spanish Breakfast
I love the fact that winter has vanished and spring is here in full glory. I know we will most likely see some rainy or cold days if we're unlucky but still, overall the temperature is rising above 20 degrees daily and the feel temperature is even higher than announced most days.
With spring being here, it also means we're enjoying some more eating moments outside, such as having a typical Spanish breakfast or as they say here "desayuno" when we have the opportunity presented. Friday I had to go to the doctor to get a medical report to exchange my current driver's license to a Spanish one, as this was in the morning, it usually means we didn't have breakfast yet.
Usually the first thing coming to mind when we are walking out is, are we hungry? And if yes, shall we have breakfast? As the medical thing didn't take that long, we could enjoy a breakfast together before driving back home. The good thing is for a Spanish breakfast, you don't have to be that picky when you decide where to have the breakfast because most places can serve you a good one that is not expensive either. Of course some places are preferred but for the price you pay, usually they don't disappoint and you walk out satisfied.
What we both love to eat is a toast with avocado and tuna or as they say here "tostada con aguacate y atun", my boyfriend usually adds "tomate" as the first topping, where I don't really find that tasteful myself. I don't like tomatoes as much as he does. What's absolutely needed is salt and pepper and some olive oil. We usually order a "cafe con leche" (coffee with milk) as well because it's part of the morning routine, having a good coffee.
It's these moments where we can enjoy a quick breakfast outside together without our daughter making a fuzz because she refuses to try anything out of the ordinary, are the moments we enjoy to the max. It's just 30 minutes of a good chat usually, but it's nice to be able to do this. These toasts are super cheap as well, from 1 to 2 euro max, depending on where you eat, meaning the bill is usually not more than 7-11 euros for the both of us depending if we ate 1 or 2 toasts.
It's such a simple breakfast but the ambiance of eating it somewhere out of the home, sitting in the sun or being out for a bit, totally makes it more enjoyable. Sure I can make these toasts at home too, but when the opportunity is there to have breakfast together somewhere outside, we usually take it.
What's your favorite breakfast to order when you're not eating at home?
This blog is part of the 30 days 30 stories challenge I started after successfully publishing 30 pictures and 30 stories the month before. I changed it up a bit as I wanted to be able to include regular blogs as well as pictures this round.
The idea is simple: publish one post a day during 30 days. You are more than welcome to join the challenge.

I've eaten tostadas with tuna before, but I've never thought of putting avocado on it too D: Where do you live? This breakfast looks so amazing, do you live in a South American country?
