The 30 Days 30 Stories Challenge - Day 2 - Buying A Car - Part 2
Buying a car part 1 failed
You can read about it in this post from a few days ago. I don't really have much more to say about this seller than that I tried to contact him again by app, and that one also didn't arrive. Meaning he either blocked me or he has his phone turned off completely. After his weird responses of having just little time, then having all the time because he wasn't home yet, and then suddenly not making it home after I told him we need some time to check the car so please let us know 30 minutes in advance , I have a weird feeling about this guy.
To be honest, my boyfriend leaned more towards giving him the benefit of the doubt (something happened) and therefore I'm happy I don't have to argue this one out with him because the guy never responded even today, two days after he said he'd contact me. I have learned to listen well to my gut feeling and it doesn't always align with the feeling my boyfriend has, yet, usually I'm the one who's right. So the guy did me a favor not responding anymore because at least we won't check that car now, lol. Always look on the bright side, right?
Determined to find a car today
I set my mind to it and I was going to find a solid option for us today. I went browsing through the cars offered for sale, digging through the dirt. When my boyfriend had a bit of time to look at them, he dismissed them all, lol. No A for effort here today, sigh. Thankfully, he came back with a red Mazda 6 which he considered a solid option. I admit that I have not issues buying another Mazda after we had one in Hungary, we now know how they drive and we now know what to pay attention to as well as we have this device to read the car computer to look for errors (which we couldn't do in Hungary when buying that one). All advantages and it should make this buy easier.
The good thing about that is also that I will immediately feel comfortable driving it probably, which took me a while in Hungary, as I didn't drive a station wagon before. Now that I master that part, I'm sure a smaller version will not be an issue at all. That is if my knee allows me to drive it though because I'm sure I will not drive it for a few more weeks at least thanks to that issue.
Contacting sellers
I went ahead and sent a few sellers a message, hoping for the owner of the red Mazda to respond, which took too long. Meanwhile my boyfriend found a blue Mazda instead, a much younger version and one that looked very handsome if we believe the pictures. With much younger I mean "only" 13 years young instead of in the range of 20 years, haha. We sure can't afford anything in the range of 5-10 years yet for now, but this will surely be another upgrade from the last car.
The owner of the blue Mazda responded quickly and when he told me the mechanical check is valid until October we decided to go check it. Tomorrow morning we will be heading towards the other town and maybe, if all goes well, we will be driving home with a car. It's a little over budget but I will move around some funds and then it's no biggie. I would not consider going a bit over budget unless it looked really good as well as because the car is much younger than most we considered.
Exciting and nervous at the same time
Because it will be the first time dealing with buying a car in Spain as well as spending a lot of money at once for just one item. I have been looking forward to this moment since we arrived, I'll be honest, but now that it seems to be happening soon it will be a big bite in the ass too. I hope tomorrow my boyfriend will approve of the car because I really don't feel like doing this more often, lol. Next week it's my birthday and our daughter is home from school for two days so boyfriend took one day off for us to explore other areas, I'm really hoping we can indeed have a nice road trip because the weather looks great currently, ideal to be on the road.
Will you keep your fingers crossed for me that this is indeed our new car? :)

Yeah you know my gut feeling is usually right, so that this guy flaked for whatever reason, in combo with his weird way of meeting up. I realized later that he also mentioned a little town outside of this big town where the car was, while meeting was in the big one so even more things were off looking back.
This one looks way better, but still can't decide it from a picture alone so we'll see.. don't want to be overly excited, but yet here I am, overly excited :) haha

Thank you, today didn't happen though, he had to work and will not be back until Sunday, sigh. Here we are again waiting for a few more days lol.
