After a long wait

It was finally time to bring our daughter to the first class of school in Spain. The only "school" she knows so far is the Hungarian kindergarten, and even though she had great times there, we are personally very happy that now it's time to start school in a country where we are highly motivated to learn the language even further and we can at least communicate for 50% without using our translation app. When we visited this school, we immediately felt it was the right one. Everyone is so friendly and positive we knew it was a good fit. We had to wait for the municipality to give permission and enroll her first, which was annoying and felt like ages. Today the wait was over.

She wasn't the only one starting today

There was one parent asking if it was her first day as well and that it was unbelievable that they made us wait for more than a week after school started. I agree, it's weird but apparently nobody worries about it, so I can only say that I'm glad the wait is over. We brought her together for the special occasion, and will also pick her up together as we know she was excited but probably also nervous. As she totally rocked it in Hungary, we're confident this will be much easier for her and soon we will talk a lot more Spanish at home to practice with her or who knows, maybe they will give her homework..

Milestones & back to "normal"

Today is one of these milestones that I want to capture because it's a special day and I really hope that things went smooth and she is smiling when we pick her up. Tonight we can visit the "papelleria" as they call it here to get her books. I saw the list and it only contains 9 books so it's probably not going to be a lot of weight (hopefully). Today also marks the day that we can finally get back to "normal" in the sense of having her at school and us working at home without having to keep her busy. She was bored and I was constantly disturbed during the day to the point that most things took so much more time and I could often not find my work flow very easily. This al changes from today, or actually hopefully tomorrow because today I did not get that much done yet due to an old injury flaring up exactly today, lol. Tomorrow I will be hopefully more productive, I'm very excited and have a nice weekly schedule for myself helping me to get back into a normal routine asap.

Almost time to pick her up, let's see if I can capture another big smile!

Thank you! Yes, she came out smiling and made 2 friends already. I'm very happy for her as it was really overdue. Too bad that they didn't have the books yet, maybe tomorrow, maybe a day later. But at least she can go instead of waiting it out at home. I bet soon she'll speak a lot of Spanish :)

Oh, hearing that she made friends already made my day! And soon you will have a fluent little Spanish speaker to practice with, so awesome!!!

I hope she had a great first day! I also hope your old injury doesn't bother you too much. It is very annoying when that happens. 💜

She did! She came out smiling <3

It's something bothering me from time to time, Carpal tunnel syndrome, first time was like 12 years ago, I know why it flares up now because of the lack of support when sitting behind my desk, I still haven't found a better chair with armrests. Trying to keep the pain to the minimum by wearing the brace at night so that it's not extra painful from the moment I wake up. It helped for today, so fingers crossed..

But it's a good reminder, I should try to hunt for a good chair a bit faster ;)

Have a nice day!

Está preciosa! She looks so happy, it is so nice to see you are accommodating to your new home. May I ask you where in Spain are you living?
Mazin and I spend more or less half of the year in Barcelona, I don’t know how far this is from where you are but if you ever need help please let me know.

Mucha gracias! <3

So far so good, we are all very happy that she finally attends school now because the process was very slow. But it seems she hasn't missed much because they have not even really started all classes yet as far as I understand from her first two days and looking at the schedule.

Thank you for the offer, although for now it seems not needed, I will remember <3
